American model and actress Jolene Blalock is best known for her role as the Vulcan T'Pol on the UPN science fiction series “Star Trek: Enterprise” (2001-2005), from which she received the Saturn Award and the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award at the 2002 Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA. She also played Captain Lola Beck on the sequel movie “Starship Troopers 3: Marauder” (2008).

Blalock lives in Los Angeles with music exec husband Michael Rapino and their two sons. A fanatic dog lover, she has two dogs and appeared on the cover of the popular British dog publication K9 Magazine.

Childhood and Family:

Jolene Blalock was born on March 5, 1975, in San Diego, California, as Joelene K. Blalock. Her name is a Scottish derivation of Black Lock, meaning “Black Lake.” She has three siblings. Jolene is an avid surfer since she was a child. She also was a skilled artist, whose preferred medium is crayon. Young Jolene was a big fan of the original “Star Trek” (1966) series. Her favorite character was Spock.

On April 22, 2003, Jolene married Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation, in Negril, Jamaica. They met in Los Angeles when Michael booked her for a beer commercial. The couple have two sons, Ryder James and River Thunder Rapino.

Jolene Blalock began modeling in her teens. She left home at 17 to model in Asia and Europe. She has graced the cover of numerous men's lifestyle magazines, including Maxim, FHM and Playboy. She was interviewed by Playboy for the magazine's “20Q” section in February 2005.    

Blalock started making transformation into acting in 1998, with a bit part in an episode of “Veronica's Closet” called “Veronica's Breast Efforts.” It was followed by guest spots in TV shows like “Love Boat: The Next Wave” (1999), “Good vs Evil” (2000), “D.C.” (2000, as Kristi), “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2000), “JAG” (2001) and appearances on the TV films “Jason and the Argonauts” (2000), “On the Edge” (2001) as well as the TV miniseries “The Diamond Hunters” (2001).     

Blalock's big break as an actress came when she landed the role of Commander T'Pol, a Vulcan who serves as the science officer aboard the starship Enterprise, on the science fiction television series “Star Trek: Enterprise,”starring opposite Scott Bakula, John Billingsley, Dominic Keating, Anthony Montgomery, Linda Park and Connor Trinneer. The show ran on UPN for four seasons from September 26, 2001 to May 13, 2005. Showing a fine acting, Blalock won a Saturn for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series and the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award for Female both in 2002.

Blalock guest-starred in two episodes of “Stargate SG-1” as Ishta, leader of a group of female Jaffa, during 2003-2004.

After “Star Trek: Enterprise” came to an end, Blalock starred opposite Ray Liotta and LL Cool J  in the drama thriller film “Slow Burn,” co-written and directed by Wayne Beach. Produced in 2003, the film was finally given a showing at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival and finally got a proper theatrical release in 2007. It performed poorly at the box office and received negative reviews from critics. She starred with Martin Cummins on the made for TV film “I Dream of Murder” (2006) with Tony Todd, James Marsters and Marc Winnick on the horror movie “Shadow Puppets” (2007) before playing Captain Lola Beck on “Starship Troopers 3: Marauder” (2008), a sequel to “Starship Troopers” and “Starship Troopers 2”, opposite Casper Van Dien. She guest starred in “CSI: Miami” (2008), “House M.D.” (2009) and “Second City This Week” (2011). She also appeared in two episodes of “Legend of the Seeker” (2010) as Sister Nicci.     

Blalock had a supporting role in “Sinners and Saints” (2010), an action/thriller film directed by and co-written by William Kaufman and starring Johnny Strong, Kevin Phillips, Costas Mandylor, Sean Patrick Flanery, Bas Rutten, Method Man, Kim Coates and Tom Berenger, starred with Christa B. Allen and Janel Parrish in the award winning film “One Kine Day” (2011) and appeared in Andrew Friedberg's comedy “Killing Frisco” (2012).

In 2014, Blalock had a part in on the Jake Kasdan directed comedy film “Sex Tape,” which starred Jason Segel, Cameron Diaz, Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper, and Rob Lowe.
