This movie scared the s*** out of me! As soon as I was done watching it, i went to bed cuz it was midnight (I like watching horror movies at night) and I was afraid that a claw was gonna reach from my bed and suck me under! What a fright! YOU MAY NEVER WANT TO DREAM (OR SLEEP) AGAIN!!!!

SummaryGood but not that scary
Content
This movie is great but did not really scare me. It did entertain me and was fun but was not scary. Freddy likes to have fun with his victims and has a big mouth. He is very different from his silent opponents Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers. The plot was really good but the spook-o-meter is below 0. fair enough-5 stars.

SummaryWhen does it get scary?
Content
I bought this movie on the sole premise of watching Johnny Depp in his first starring role. I saw this film when it came out and I could never figure out why it was scary. While rewatching it I think that I may just be associating Robert Englund too much as Willy from V and not enough as evil Freddy. 20 years later not much has changed, I still was not scared and Johnny Depp still looks good.

SummaryDo you have nightmare's
Content
A nightmare on elm street is in my personal opinion the best horror movie of all time. This is one of the first horror movies i ever saw, and to tell you the truth when i saw it i was about to piss myself, it was that scary. The story line in this movie is one of the best and Freddy Krueger is the scariest horror icon of all time. This was the start of Wes Craven's writing / directing career. He did a great job with such little money he had. Robert Englund did such a good job in this one and also all the other nightmares. This movie will have you not sleeping for weeks. Do you have nightmares?

SummaryThis.... is god.
Content
In the era of meteocre slasher flicks that revolved around masked lunatics with butcherknives and chainsaws, there was a horror film that stood out in the genre's crowd. That film was none other than Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street. There are so many great things about this movie. Look past the sometimes cheesy special effects, obvious editing mistakes, and sometimes low-grade performances. A Nightmare on Elm Street wasn't your ordinary stereotypical eighties gore show. Our killer, or anti-hero, doesn't parade around with a kitchen utinsel and coveralls. He's got a red and green striped sweater, old wrinkled fedora, and let's not forget what made him most famous: the claw. Also, Fred Krueger, our killer, takes you out in your dreams! What a scary concept. I run away from a guy with a pitchfork but there's no escaping Fred.... that is unless the alarm clock goes off. Elm Street is a cult treasure and Freddy is a worthy horror icon with the likes of Jason Voorhees, The Tallman, or Leatherface. Freddy was so popular that this single film became a franchise of 8 films. Sure the sequels weren't classics but this one is. If your a strong horror genre fan or a guy or girl looking for a midnight movie that'll scare the hell out of you; A Nightmare on Elm Street is a sure way to get your scary satisfaction!
