Joe Morton is an African-American supporting actor known for his serious, intellectual demeanor on film, and is typically cast as a doctor, lawyer, scientist, or elected official. In addition to feature film, Morton has also appeared on stage and TV. He began on the stage and made his debut in 1968's Hair. Morton became well-known for his subsequent work in Broadway musicals and earned a Tony nomination for his role in A Raisin in the Sun. Morton has also appeared on several TV series. He made a critically acclaimed feature film debut in The Brother from Another Planet (1984), but he is best known as the scientist who researched cyborg components in Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991). ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
