American actress Jessica Collins first came to the attention of public when she played Dinah Lee Mayberry Alden on the soap opera “Loving” from 1991 to 1994. The role also brought her two Soap Opera Digest nominations. Since 2011, she has played Avery Bailey Clark on “The Young and the Restless.” She received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2013 for the role.

Childhood and Family:

Jessica Collins was born on April 1, 1971, in Schenectady, New York, as Jessica Lynn Capogna. She enrolled at Amsterdam High School in Amsterdam, New York. In 2009, she graduated with honors from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. She also studied at The Royal National Theatre Studio in London and The Howard Fine Actor's Studio in Los Angeles. Jessica's younger brothers, Chad and Zach Capogna, are fraternal twins.     

Jessica dated Robert Tyler in November 1995, and they eventually married on November 11, 1996. The couple divorced on February 15, 2002, citing irreconcilable differences.



Jessica Collins got her big break when she was cast Dinah Lee Mayberry Alden on the ABC daytime soap “Loving,” a role she had from 1991 to 1994. She was nominated for the Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Female Star in 1993 and for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in 1994 for her work on the show.

Following her exit from “Living,” Collins guest starred in “M.A.N.T.I.S.” (1994), “Coach” (1994), “Renegade” (1995), “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” (1995), “Diagnosis Murder” (1996), “Life with Roger” (1996) and “Star Trek: Voyager” (1997). She played Jody Carlisle in three episodes of “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1997 and Karina in the 1998 direct to video film “Best of the Best 4: Without Warning.”        

Collins continued to make guest appearances in TV shows like “Dawson's Creek” (2000), “Off Centre” (2002), “ Andy Richter Controls the Universe” (2002), “Everwood” (2005), “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2005) and “Two and a Half Men” (2006). She played Colleen on “American Dreams” (2002-2003), Meredith Davies in “Tru Calling” (2003-2004) and Jessica in three episodes of “Unscripted” (2005). She also appeared in films like “Beautiful” (2000), “Ritual” (2002), “Catch Me If You Can” (2002), “King for a Day” (2003, Short), “The Ranch” (2004, TV) and “Dirty Love” (2007).  

From 2007 to 2008, Collins played Marla on the short lived ABC comedy/drama “Big Shots,” starring alongside Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott, Christopher Titus, Joshua Malina, Nia Long and Peyton List. She appeared with Eva Mendes, David Krumholtz and Eric Lively on the Bill Guttentag film “Live!”, which was released in April 2007 at the Tribeca Film Festival, and portrayed Lauren on the crime/drama film “Open House” (2010). She guest starred in “Gary Unmarried” (2008), “Nip/Tuck” (2009) and “CSI: Miami” (2010), and had a recurring role as Valerie Bottoms on the ABC series “Scoundrels” (2010).              

Back to soap operas, Collins assumed the regular role of Avery Bailey Clark on the CBS series “The Young and the Restless”. She made her on-screen debut as a high class attorney during the episode that aired on July 27, 2011, and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013.   

Collins also appeared in episodes of “Memphis Beat” (2011), “ NCIS” (2012), “ It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia” (2 episodes, 2011-2013) and “Perception” (2014).
