Sweeney Todd's Johanna
Northern Irish actress Jayne Wisener is best recognized for her role as Sweeney Todd's daughter Johanna in Tim Burton's film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Tony award-winning 1979 musical thriller, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007; starring Johnny Depp). Following her film debut, she has appeared in the horror film "Boogeyman 3" (2008), as well as guest-starred in the British TV series "Minder" and "The Inbetweeners."
On the stage, this 5' 5" green-eyed blonde has performed with Musical Theatre 4 Youth in such productions as "Falling" and "West Side Story." She made her stage debut in the UK premiere of the musical "Parade" at the Donmar Warehouse theatre in 2007 and originated the role of Sophie in a West End showcase of the new musical “The Lost Christmas” by Laurence Mark Wythe at the Trafalgar Studios, London, in November 2008.

Childhood and Family:
Born May 19, 1987, in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, UK, Jayne Wisener grew up in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. She attended DH Christie Memorial Primary School and Coleraine High School. At Primary school, her music teacher was the sister of James Nesbitt. She later took a degree course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow. Previous students include Bill Paterson, David Tennant, Daniela Nardini, Billy Boyd, James McAvoy, Dawn Steele, Patrick Doyle.
Besides acting and singing, Jayne also plays the piano and trumpet. She once worked in a pizzeria called Pizza Pomodoro in Coleraine.
West Side Story
Becoming involved with local music and drama groups from an early age, Jayne Wisener, who has received private singing lessons from vocal coach Peter Wilson, won the lead role as “Oliver” in her high school's production of Lionel Bart's musical of the same name. She was in her first year at the time.
In 2005, she represented Antrim, a town in County Antrim in the northeast of Northern Ireland, in the highly acclaimed Rose of Tralee festival, an international competition which is celebrated among Irish communities all over the world.
Meanwhile, she joined children's charity “Music Theatre 4 Youth,” and appeared in a workshop production of "Falling." She also performed in a youth production of the musical "West Side Story" at the Millennium Forum in Derry, where she was spotted by “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” (2007) casting director Jeremy James Taylor.
Wisener was subsequently cast as Johanna Barker, the 15-year-old daughter of Benjamin "Sweeney Todd" Barker (played by Johnny Depp) and his wife Lucy (portrayed by Laura Michelle Kelly), in Tim Burton's adaptation of the Tony award-winning 1979 musical thriller by Stephen Sondheim, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007). The film won a number of awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, and the Academy Award for Best Art Direction.
Following her stunning debut, Wisener made her professional stage debut as Mary in the UK premiere of the musical "Parade" (2007) at Donmar Warehouse, London. Later in November 2008, she created the role of Sophie in a West End showcase of the new musical “The Lost Christmas” by Laurence Mark Wythe at the Trafalgar Studios, London.
Returning to the screen, Wisener appeared in the horror movie "Boogeyman 3" (2008), the third installment of the "Boogeyman" film series. The film that also stars Erin Cahill, Elyes Gabel, and Kate Maberly was previewed at the Screamfest Film Festival on October 18, 2008 and and has been released on January 20, 2009.
Meanwhile, Wisener was spotted as a guest in a 2009 episode of the British comedy-drama series "Minder" and the BAFTA nominated British comedy series "The Inbetweeners."
