 | This movie has everything you're looking for in a good action/drama movie. Sex, drugs, gunfights, and a lot of laughs. If you have ever seen or heard about the movie "Magnolia", you will realize that the theme is somewhat the same. The way the movie is aligned, it shows that everyone's lives are interrelated, and for one crazy night, this movie shows you how. This movie takes you everywhere from the everyday supermarket to underground rave parties, casinos, to stripclubs. I highly suggest that if this sounds remotely interesting to you, at least rent it. |

 | Psychic TV, let me tell you who this band is, Genesis P-Orridge the main person/singer/musician of PTV. Genesis started/invented industrial music in 1975 with his other band Throbbing Gristle. Before TG Gen was a Hell's Angel and in a performance art group called COUM where one of his performances included withdrawing a syringe full of blood from his scrotum then injecting it into his arm and that's just the beginning to read more check out the book Wreckers of Civilization. When Genesis began his new group Psychic TV in 1980 he also started a cult called Temple Ov Psychic Youth or TOPY which was a expansion of the 60s cult The Process which evolved from Scientology which L. Ron Hubbard created based of his experiments in Aleister Crowley Occult Magick with rocket scientist Jack Parsons. Anyways The Process was even linked to Charles Manson and you can read more about this in Adam Gorightly books especially the one not available on amazon called Death Cults. Anyways Psychic TV created the rave scene in the 80s by braking into warehouses and throwing parties. During this time Psychic TV released 23 albums in 23 months because 23 is a magickal number for which PTV were inducted into the Genius Book of World Records. Genesis also at one point took all of his money and sent giant bronze penises to all the major record labels with their names engraved into the penises. To skip ahead Genesis was forced into Exile and had to leave England and he came to the U.S. Anyways this living legend who was friend of both Timothy Leary and William S. Burroughs is about to put out a new album but the best introduction to this band is probably Beauty From Thee Beast: The Best of Psychic TV or the dvd Psychic TV - Black Joy |

 | Aaahh, if only this movie came out before Pulp Fiction. It would've been hailed as one of the greatest movies of all time. But although it borrows heavily from Pulp Fiction the way the story is told, the similarity stops there. This movie is amazing in so many ways, I never tire from watching it.
First, a short account of the story. It has basically 3 stories but they are ironically related. One is about Ronna and because of her financial difficulties, she engages in a drug deal and of course it turns sour. Simon meanwhile, who works with Ronna takes a trip to Las Vegas with his buddies and they get entangled with prostitutes and mobsters with hilarious results. And finally we have Adam and Zack, a gay couple who get mixed up with a cop because of drug possession. You probably can see bits and pieces of a puzzle, but how it all adds up will definitely give you tremendous satisfaction and fun.
I have to say kudos to the writers for doing a fantastic job. The script is written very well and having been a teen myself, it does represent teenagers to a certain ammount of accuracy. The script is also tinged with humour and wit to make it entertaining. Really good work from the writers! Of course, no movie can do well with just a good script. Which brings me to my next point, the acting. Unbelievable performances from some of Hollywood's up-and-comers at the time. I usually highlight the best acting, but everyone was equally good in their roles here, from Sarah Polley to Timothy "The Man" Olyphant (his pre-Deadwood days and he's a cool mutha even then). It all made the story so convincing.
The directing was also superb. Doug Liman maintained the authenticity and ambience of the whole movie very well. And special mention about the music from BT...it was awesome, and fitted the movie very well. I even bought the soundtrack, really a rare find with it's variety of songs from some of the best artists around. In short, I felt that everything about the movie came together very well thus the 5-star rating.
Make no mistake, this is not your average teen movie. It is brilliantly conceived and executed, with some of the best dialogue ever written. It's definitely a classic in my opinion. Rarely do I find myself enjoying a movie as much as this, everytime I watch it. Highly recommended, a must-buy! |

 | what I thought about this film is the following: good actors, the script is OK and the outcome is alright. Somethings about this movie lack a lot and some might say its a Pulp Fiction-esque type movie and it is in its only little world. Sarah Polley (The Claim, Dawn Of The Dead '04), Katie Holmes (Tv's Dawson's Creek, upcoming Batman Begins) and Timothy Olphant (HBO's Deadwood, Scream 2) were the only ones that did outstanding performances in this movie. the other outstanding cast includes the following: Jay Mohr (upcoming King's Ransom, Jerry Maguire), Scott Wolf (Tv's Party Of Five, Killing Emmett Young), William Ficthner (Armageddon, Equilibrium), Desmond Askew, Taye Diggs (Malibu's Most Wanted, The Way Of The Gun), Breckin Meyer (Road Trip, Tv's Married With The Kelly), Jane Krakowski (tv's Ally McBeal), James DuVal (Nowhere, Independence Day), J.E. Freeman, Tony Denman (Dorm Daze), Nathan Bexton (Psycho Beach Party), Katharine Towne (Mulholland Drive) and many more. highlight would have to be all of Sarah Polley's characters story view because she is just too darn gorgeous.

 | This teen/young adult movie has teens in it but they sure do not act like adults, they act more like the same annoying people you find in Kevin Smith movies.First feature film to star Katie Holmes, and she can not act. Her follow up movies have not been any better. |
