 | It's hard to believe that THE LOST BOYS, was done in 1987. The main giveaway is those rockin roll poofy hairdo's and feminine apparel that rockstars wore in the 80's inluding short little tops, leather, and fish nets. Oh and alot of earrings, and maybe some makeup. But anyway i own the lost boys on dvd, use to watch it non stop in the 80's, and this classic vampire movie is the best of the 80's in my opinion. I really admire the makeup that the vampires had to wear (when they turned into vampires) and the visual effects need to be appreciated considering the time that this movie was made. Cults, satanists, all that was extremely popular in the 80's, and you can find many movies of this genre that are dated back to the 80's. The critic who reviewed this movie on amazon, said it kept getting sillier and sillier, but not really. It wasn't unintentional humor. There were parts that were meant to be funny, and in no way is this movie cheesy. The main reason why many 80's films are not cheesy, but some people think they are, is because they had fun with movie making back then. Nowadays our movies are way too graphic, and lack any plot, and these writers nowwadays try way too hard. But back then, things that were considered humorous or entertaining, isnt anymore to alot of people because people are more ignorant. The lost boys will always be a good and remembered movie. It's pretty dam good for 1987. The acting is fantastic considering how young these boys were. The directing deserves an oscar in my opinion. And i love the tribute to JIM MORRISSEN, like his photo in the vampire den, and his song people are strange at the beginning and end of this film. How can you not love the lost boys. I guess people take things too seriously. But this will always be a classic, it's as good as it was back then. And i love the theme song THOU SHALL NOT KILL. Perfect for this movie, and it played at the perfect times when the mood was right. Well let me rephrase my earlier comment about this being the best vampire movie of the 80's. I take that back.. IT'S THE BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE EVER MADE. There, i think i did this movie justic because it is my absolute favorite. |

| I love this movie. It ranks in my top ten, definately. The plot line is very good, although it climaxes a little too early and feels like a let down. By this I simply mean that the story is more invigorating when michael actually is a vampire, and it seems that he too easily chooses what side he is on. Perhaps it would have been better if he hadn't immediately sought the help of his brother. The dialouge is great, and jam packed with lines you'll remember forever. The story seems so believable, and even appealing in a dangerous way. Everyone knows what it's like to be the new kid, and most of us have experienced situations where the "cool" and "fun" groups are the ones that get into the most trouble. We all know what it's like to get sucked in. This movie takes that situation to a whole new level, making it easy to relate to yet exciting and fanciful. I'd love to see this remade, but then again I doubt it would turn out as good. |

| The Lost Boys is a great and sexy vampire movie that is out these days!!!!!! This two disc dvd special edition is a must if you are a vampire lover like myself!!!!!! I have seen some good vampire movies,but this one takes the icing off the cake!!!!! Its about a bunch of rebellious vampires that roam the santa cruz boardwalk!!!!!! The setting is awesome and the acting is to die for and the whole movie keeps you going from beginning to the very end!!!!! This dvd also has a great theory on vampires which is very cool to learn about!!!! If you want a vampire movie that is awesome and sexy at the same time then you need The Lost Boys!!!!!!! |

| This movie, in my opinion, is the best vampire movie so far. I've never really watched any Vampire movies before this one came out, so I don't know about older films, but as for then until now, its the best. As for it being a horror movie, I don't think so. Its a really good Thriller, like most vampire movies. I think the only vampire movie that would even come close to horror would be Bram Strokers Dracula. Interview with a Vampire is also a really good Vampire movie, but I still love the Lost Boys the best. Maybe because I grew up watching that movie. Anyway,this movie is definitly worth buying..... |
