 | We saw the trailer for this movie on another DVD rental and it looked like it was going to be a great comedy. Unfortunately the trailer contains all of the laughs. The guy who edited the trailer deserves an Oscar and then be shot. We wanted to like this one. We tried twice make it through the whole movie and couldn't make it either time. It was that bad. No it was worse. The lead actor is so over the top and stupid that he rendered the movie unwatchable all by himself. I can't imagine what James Brolin had to say to Barbara when he screened this one for her. Hopefully the paycheck was really big. Other than Stiles we have to say: Terrible acting - Awful Script - Insipid Humor. What a disappointment! |

| The plot: Basically, Jason Lee is preparing to get married to Selma Blair until he meets Selma Balir's cousin (Julia Stiles). The whole movie revolves around Jason Lee trying to avoid Julia Stiles so Selma Blair doesn't think he has the hots for her cousin.
Okay, I admit the script was pretty weak in this movie, but that doesn't mean it wasn't funny. Personally, I liked a few of the jokes, and I got a good laugh out of this. Julia Stiles is what makes the movie watchable because she makes her character, Becky, interesting to watch. Basically, Stiles is what makes this movie watchable because she gets this movie rolling along.
All in all, if you were interested in seeing this movie, go ahead and rent it and see what you think. Just don't expect a lot from this movie, as with most movies out there.

| First of all i want to point out something that is really disturbing me. You know that movie, My Boss's Daughter. Well go search for it here on amazon and look at the cover than come back to this page and look at the cover of A guy THing, notice anything similiar? Except that old guy in the background instead of Selma Blair. Anyway this movie was one of the best movies I ever saw. Even though I only saw two Jason Lee movies (this and Dreamctacher) he is one of my favorite actors. Even if he's not doing a funny scene you still laugh, and in all his movies he is doing a comedy part even though its not a comedy movie. To really enjoy movies you have to stop trying to be an ass andwatch the movie without trying to make a bad reviwe about it, and if your gonna do that anyway why make a page long bad review? i thought u dont like the movie, than stop going to every stie u can find it on and critiscize it. I love the characters in this movie. And how if u put urself in any of thier positions you know u would do the same. this is a hilarious move watch it, buy it, watch it again, buy it two times if you want, its that great! |

| This movie is very funny.
Paul and his girlfriend are getting married and Paul's friends throw him a bachelor party with hookers. Paul gets really drunk, and the next morning wakes up with one of the girls in his bed. He throws her out of his apartment thinking he will never see her again.
Several days later he goes to his fiences house for dinner and as it turns out the girl in his bed is his fience's cousin. He keeps on bumping into her and also trys not to let his fience know what happened.
As the big day draws near Paul finds himself more attracted to his fiences cousin, but feels that he has to go on with the wedding. What happens? well just watch the movie and find out |

| Judging from the bad reviews, I must have watched this on a night when I wasn't too demanding. I just wanted a little entertaining .. not a deep story.
DUUUH?!? That's what this movie is for!
Yes, it is predictable. Yes, it follows an over used story line BUT it does it so much better than most.
I had avoided this movie for a long time. I am glad I watched it though I do find Stiles irritating as usual. She puckers her brow for every emotion. She is a lousy actress in my opinion.
I thought this movie was creative with the crabs, mugger, chef, spiked gravy, daydream scenes, brother.
I laughed out loud a lot which is the supposed to be the whole idea!! |
