SummaryLoved it!!
Content
Since it came out, I loved the movie, "Cat's Don't Dance". My favorte from the cast wuld have to be both Sawyers, Jasmine Guy (A Different World), and Natalie Cole.

The story is filled with some drama, a lot of comedy, horror brought to you by a scary antagonist, and a little romance to seal in the holes. Characters are lovable in this film, such as Millie, Pudge, Sawyer, and Danny, the tabby-cat protagonist.

The soundtrack is even better, with catchy tunes, and Natalie Cole. (Tell me Lies, Nothing Ganna Stop us Now), and others.

A great movie and a great sountrack.

SummaryThis Movie's Good
Content
I like this movie a lot. It's got great characters, pretty good songs, and Lovely (in my opinion) animation. There are just one or two things about it that killed the box office.
First, the introductions to all the songs with Danny are really quite hideous. After that, the songs are good, but the bad intros just spoil it. Not to mention the--hmmmm--INTERSESTING choice of music on the opening credits. What fathomable reason is there for putting an annoying pop song over the opening credits of a 30'S-STYLE ANIMATED MUSICAL? HUH!? The opening credits themselves are pretty neat--roadsigns and sights with names on them--but the pop song just kills it. Watch them with the sound off.
Second, it has some parts specifically for kids, and some parts specifically for grown-ups, making the movie end up for neither to sit through.
Thirdly--and this is the tricky one--I'm not quite sure what it doesn't have, but it doesn't have whatever-it-is. Like if your car doesn't start: it could be one of a million things that isn't working, but you can still tell when it isn't.
In short, really good movie, just not QUITE awe-inspiring. The designs, characters, and coreography (by Gene Kelly-- the star of "Singin' in the Rain") are to die for, and the rest is sort of average. Watch it anyway! (If you still have doubts, look at it this way: The director went on to do "The Emperor's New Groove", so this can't be THAT bad!)

SummaryA funny sendup of the biz
Content
Anyone who tries to break into Hollywood today will recognize this golden age portrait of the musical era. The great musical era personified by the late Howard Keel. Keel could easily have been the inspiration for the feline hero Danny, who, a la Gene Kelly, sweeps the female, serious actress Sawyer, off her feet, which she lands on, dancing up a storm. The animals of Tinseltown are treated...well, just like any other actors in the pecking order. And Miss Darla Dimple is a wicked satire on the producer/child star from hell.

SummarySo Cute!
Content
This is a really cute film and I really loved it a lot when I was little. Of course now I have to fast foward through somethings since I'm 16 because it's stuff that can sometimes only be appreciated by a child. The one thing I never get tired of is the music. It's upbeat, and gets my toes tapping. I was thinking about getting the soundtrack just because the songs were that good!

SummaryGreat Movie! I adore it!!
Content
But why can't we get it in widescreen? I hope all other animation studios will do what Disney has been since DVD became popular--digitally master the mateiral and print it in widescreen format. Cats Don't Dance, Last Unicorn, Land before Time, Swan Princess, An American Tail, and Secret of NIHM all deserve better!
