SummaryWell Steven Segal IS a bad actor, but the action deserves 3stars
Content
I saw this in theatre's, and didn't expect much goin in, but it looked like an entertaining action flick, and even though Segal is old and has one heck of a gut, and it was funny watching him walk all thug like in prison with that bandana on his head trying to look all bad ass, which turned out to be comical he probably was trying to hide his gray hairs and baldness, you have to give him some credit for the moves he did during the fighting scenes. Yes he has always been a terrible actor and not very many people have liked him, but action movies is what he does, like Arnold. You dont have to act well in actions, and yes they do come off as being quite cheesy and unrealistic, but it doesn't fail to entertain, even for those who arent that into actions, like me. Alot of parts were cheesy in half past dead, like when the music blasted as they walked with guns, as if it's cool to be a homicidal maniac who kills cops for no reason. But what do you expect. It's sensless garbage, but i was still entertained. Ja Rule and Korrupt werent oscar worthy or anything, but still added a little something like humor, and that thug vybe, especially for ja rule and korrupt fans, who only went to see the movie because they were in it. So, 3 stars for their effort towards the action and martial arts parts, and the fact that it still managed to entertain you especially after spending the doe.

SummaryIneptitude at its finest
Content
If you've been looking for it, then this is it: Seagal's worst film, by a long shot. The ineptitude of this film is its only surprise. I will not even bother with a full review. The fight scenes are a joke and the climax is lousy shoot out with machine guns. Is there anything more boring than watching people fire machine guns at each other? Yes, there is, and that's watching people in a Seagal film wax philosophic. Give it up. Every time this film tried to get deep I found myself gagging (especially the villian--that guy sucked a big one).

Seagal's character wears a Buddhist bracelet in this film, and we all know he claims to be a Buddhist, so why is he going on about God here? I have never in my life met a Buddhist who believed in God. I am not in any way suggesting that that's bad. In fact, they are all the wiser for it in my opinion. It just really makes me question Seagal's incessant bantering about how deeply Buddhist he is. Shut up!It was only one scene in the film, but boy, was it ever gag-inducing. The villian was similarly hokey and ridiculous, and by the way, Ja Rule should never be allowed to act again. Why was he placed in an action film in the first place? He looks like a dopey, twirpy, little boy.

I am not bagging on this film simply because it was bad, because almost all of Seagal's films are BAD. I am bagging on this film rather, because, on top of being bad, it's SOOO BAD that it is entirely devoid of entertainment value. The only entertaining part of the film at all is Nia Peeples--and she also has the only decent action scene. In short, if you're ever dying to experience that "My oh my I want those two hours back!" feeling, then watch this abysmal dung heap, but don't be surprised if you find yourself smelling of poop when its over, cause it's a stinker.

Summary100% off the chain!
Content
Steven Seagal hasn't lost his touch at all. He makes an action movie great with all the fighting he does. I don't care how bad people think he is as an actor. Frankly I think he's entertaining. Ja Rule did a great job as Seagal's partner, the very talented Morris Chestnut plays a very believable bad guy, and Tony Plana did a great job as the warden known as "El Fuego." Tons of explosive action and high octane excitement. The sky diving scene is one of the best action sequences of all-time. If you're a pompous and nit picking movie watcher, then you won't like this movie. If you want to watch something entertaining and explosive, then this movie is it. A must have for all action movie fans!

This is a great action film with ja rule and steven segul. They get into trouble when not backing down from beign arrested by the FBI. Segal tries to protect ja and jumps infront of him, but get shot. He was dead for 22 minutes, but comes back to life. (the name of the movie) They both get taken to Alcatraz, but ja thinks segal is dead. They meet again. There is a criminal there who is getting the electric chair over $200 million in gold.A group of commandoes brake in to try and get the secret out of him. Segal has to convince ja and the other convicts to fight with the law. Great movie, and I recommend it to everybody.
