Background:

Hailing from one of the world’s most prosperous families, model-turned-business-woman Ivanka Trump is well-know as the offspring of American multi-millionaire Donald Trump. In 2003, she gained additional fame for being featured in Born Rich, a documentary about the experience of growing up as a child in a very affluent family. She was also a substitute judge, in place of Carolyn Kepcher, throughout the production of The Apprentice 5.

Although her real fame comes from her lineage, Ivanka has created a solid career in modeling. She has been featured in numerous magazines, including Elle, Glamour, Seventeen and GC, and has modeled in campaigns for Thierry Mugler, Tommy Hilfiger and Sasson jeans.

Childhood and Family:

Daughter of multi-millionaire Donald Trump and his former wife Ivana Zelnickova, Ivana Marie Trump, who would later be popular as Ivanka Trump, was born on October 30, 1981, in New York City, New York. Ivanka’s mother is Trump’s first wife. They separated after a fifteen-year marriage. Ivanka has two brothers, Donald, Jr. (born in 1977) and Eric (born in 1983), and is the older half-sister to Tiffany Trump (mother Marla Maples).

Ivanka attended the Choate Rosemary Hall boarding school in Wallingford, Connecticut, and The Chapin School. In 2004, straight A-student Ivanka received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She also attended Fordham University.

Raised under the guidance of her strict mother, the daughter of American business executive Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, was forced to enter the world of the working to earn her own money as a teenager. During her high school days at Choate, in Connecticut, she began her modeling career though education was her first priority.

Represented by Elite Model Management, Ivanka landed her first modeling gig for such fashion magazines as Elle and Glamour. Owning the best pair of legs since Christy Brinkley, the girl was immediately recognized. She made her debut as a cover model in 1997 when Seventeen Magazine posted her pictures on the May issue. The same year, Ivanka broadened her popularity by appearing on national television as a host of the Miss Teen USA Pageant (her father incidentally was Executive Producer).

Ivanka’s career subsequently skyrocketed. She did even more magazine layouts, photo shoots, as well as runway shows. She also flew to such fashion centers as Paris, Milan and London. Her rising status was further confirmed when Ivanka was hired to model in campaigns for Thierry Mugler, Tommy Hilfiger and Sasson jeans. She also appeared in a spread for British GQ in 1999.

Ivanka was quickly on her way to breaking through the supermodel stratosphere by the time she was 19. With her status in the modeling world continuing to rise, she was not destroyed by fame and money and her studies were well-managed. It paid off as Ivanka has earned a reputation as a budding business woman. She currently holds the position of Vice President of Real Estate Development at the Trump Organization.

Recently, Ivanka appeared on the TV show “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch” (2006), in which she was featured as herself. Before the performance, she played herself in Sex and the City: A Farewell (2004, TV) and in the documentary Born Rich (2003). Ivanka also made a five-episode appearance as the replacement for regular Apprentice advisor Carolyn Kepcher in the reality show The Apprentice 5.
