Wesley Snipes is a much better badguy than a cop and Chris Rock a crackhead that's what saves this movie.The plot and action was good for it's time. If you a Snipes fan then you'll enjoy this. His character is ruthless and he don't give a f*** about nobody.. |

| we all know the late 80's early 90's was fill with bad hair does , crappy clothes and crazy dance craze, why am tellin you this??? well when i first saw New Jack City i wanted to be a bad guy talk about dumb & impressionable, well let's say i don't feel the same way now (thank god!!) This movie is really a star studded movie before many of the stars became bigger stars, i must say that Wesley Snipes was great!!!, Judd Nelson sucked in this movie, and as for his presence this movie lost one star in my rating, however Chris Rock as a crack head ha! ha! ha! well that was fun!!! and Ice-t weeell ummmh, seriously once you can look past some of the bad acting, this movie ain't all that bad, when i look at it now it surely brings back memories, ""look how far we come baaaaby" well buy this movie and form your own opinion it's defintely worth a try laterzzzz folks. |

| Sorry, but just the fact that they changed the view from the criminal to the police officer, it totally changes the theme of the movie and the way it develops itself. New Jack City was sure a movie that had an impact in the 90's. |

| This movie is a clear rip off of Scarface and The Godfather. In fact the story is essentially exactly the same as The Godfather with the Scarface coke empire thrown in. The only difference is that there is the cops view of the events that go down and of course the fact that all of the main characters save one are black. Despite the fact that this movie is a blatant rip off I did enjoy it mainly because of Wesley Snipes acting. Other than that its been done before and been done much better. |

| This film has it all. The pace is superb with a suspense-action mix. The subject matter is exceptionally interesting, with a good message to it. The acting is at its very best. Wesley Snipes is pure evil. Very sad and real at times, but the ending wraps everything up into a nice little package. I have to say it is one of the best gang/gangster film out there. But, with each movie of this kind, you have a different time and place in history. Making the genre very hard to pick a best from. |
