Gregor Jordan is the talented young director whose first short film, Swinger, won the prestigious Tropicana Short Film Festival in Sydney before going on to collect the Jury Prize at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. It has since screened at the Telluride, New York, Sundance, Edinburgh, Brisbane, Valladolid, Haifa and Taipei Film Festivals. In January 1996 it was screened as part of the Australian Collection of short films on ABC Television.

During 1996, Jordan completed his second short film Stitched which was nominated for an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Screenplay - Non Feature. He has also written two episodes of the television series Big Sky, and directed The Confident Man, an episode of Bryan Brown's Twisted Tales for the Nine Network.

Jordan was born in Sale, Victoria in 1966. His father was an airforce pilot and Gregor's childhood was spent travelling between various airforce postings. His professional career began at Channel Ten in Sydney as a production trainee where he worked his way up to the position of studio floor manager. He studied film and television at the North Sydney Technical College and spent many years working in the film and television industry in various capacities, from assistant director and standby props to actor. His career as a director began with music videos, most notably Christine Anu's Party.
