 | As soon as I hear that a certain movie is going to have an "unbelievable twist" I can almost always guess what it is going to be as I'm sure most of you movie fans do. This is one such movie.
After the apparant suicide of his wife, David (Robert DeNiro) a phsycologist decides it best to move his daughter Emily (Dakota Fanning) out from their familiar New York City home to the country side feeling that the change of scenery will help his daughter adjust to life without her mother.
Into a few days, Emily developes a disturbing friendship with the unseen "Charlie" who David feels is an imaginary friend thought up by his daughter to place responsibility of his wife's death onto him, but not directly from Emily. Only, when David slides on his music to write in his journal about Emily's trauma, does Charlie and Emily begin to play extremely chilling games.
There are a bit too many characters thrown into the story to obviously keep you clueless, which is no surprise that these characters really do not weave with the story, they barely flow which makes their motives for potentially being "Charlie" pretty weak.
Over all, Dakota Fanning is completely creepy, but that doesn't keep the story from being dreadfully long to the point. I understand it's keeping with such slow paced psychological thrillers like The Shinning and Taxi Driver, but it turns out to be simply... long.
Perhaps there are just too many movies out there like this to be original. But as far as predictability goes, it's not that terrible of a movie. But it is, I'm afraid, a one time watcher. |

 | The first 2/3 of this movie had me going until I found out the punchline was too similar to Secret Window. Seems like DeNiro's people just wanted to throw together a quick-cash horror flick.
They stole the catch from another movie then just used standard
scary movie scenes to fill in the rest. His comedies and mob movies do better.
Why do these characters always have to move out into a large house out in the boonies to "get away from it all". Please find some other place and be different for once. I might give it a half star just for that. |

 | Wow this is a terrible movie....I saw John Polson's Aussie movie "Siam Sunset" and thought it was a great little comedy....I was interested to see what he would do in the Wood soo to speak....he made Swimfan (which at least wasn't as terrible as this) and then this piece of dreck....Dakota Fanning is so so talented and she is wonderful here..but the script sinks everyone...and as for De Niro I can only shake my head and ask what happened to one of our greatest actors.....the two Meet the Parents movies were actually funny...but honestly what has this man been doing? De Niro is dead boring in this movie....and the ending sucks to high heaven.....please don't waste your money! |

 | Ok, let's get serious. This movie is a waste of time and money. If you've seen Fight Club you've seen Secret Window and Hide and Seek.. Different actors, same story. Sure they changed a few things around, like location. But that's about it. In all honesty I wish you could sue Hollywood for putting this crap out. It's completely unoriginal. I have a good belief system now anyways. If it isn't directed by Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, or Mel Gibson. It's nothing but a waste of money. What is seriously sad is, I was just messing with my girl and said "Watch this movie be exactly like fight club and secret window" five minutes into it. I then made the prediction that Robert DeNiro had split personalities and that he was Charlie. Wow. I was right. I gave this 1 star just because it had Robert DeNiro in it. |

 | Okay this movie was supposed to be scary riight? Yes it was. But I figured the ending out halfway through the movie. This could have been a really scary concept. But it's not, and it's boring, a waste of my time and yours. |
