SummaryDirector Spheeris can't stage a joke.
Content
Sorry Penelope Spheeris but you can't. Most evident in the scene when the Clampetts give the finger to those people on th efreeway. Varney is too short to replace tall Buddy Ebsen as Jed. Film still has almost the heart of the original.

SummaryA Good Movie!
Content
I like The Beverly Hillbillies. The TV show may be better but I also like this theatrical movie version which I thought was pretty cute and I liked the cast, I especially liked Jim Varney and Deidrich Bader but Chloris Leachman, Lily Tomlin, Erika Eleniak and Dabney Coleman were good too and I'm happy that this movie is finally on DVD and is in widescreen and I could finally get rid of my old pan & scan video and I highly recommend the DVD to anyone who liked this movie! Now they just need to put complete seasons of the old TV show on DVD!

SummaryWei Doggy
Content
This 1993 movie based on the classic 60's TV show is one of the best of these kind of movies based on a tv program.

It's the same story, A man named Jed, who was a poor mountaineer who barley kept his fammily fed, then one day he was shooting at some food, when up from the ground came a bubbling brew. Well the next thing you Jeds a millionaire and his kin folk said "Jed, move away from there. California is the place you outta be, so they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly Hills. Where they gots movie stars, smog and cement ponds.

And once Jed and the familly have settled into there new house there whacky adventure starts. Jethro (The guy from Drew Carey show) becomes Vice PResidant at Mr. Drysdales bank and starts looking for a wife for his uncle. Lea Thompson (Back To The Future) & Rob Scnieder(The Animal) play the villains of the movie. Miss Laureda (Lea) is setting herself up to steal Jed Clampet's (Jim Nabours, Ernest) money. But miss Hathoway (Lilly Tomlin) is on the case with Granny (Leachman) to proove there frauds.

There is lots of Zaney goofy fun a long the way. Also a guest role appreaence by original TV series Jed, Buddy Ebson and the lovely Dolly Parton. Also a few other known faces during the ride.

Theres no bonus features, so dont pay much for it. But check it out of you wanna have a a good ol hayseed rockin', boot-scootin, wei doggy of a time.

well now it's time to say goodbye to this reveiw. I hope you folks learned something new. Your all invited back to this web site locality. To read a heap more reveiws about the Beverly Hillbillies.

Ya'll come back now, ya hear

SummaryErnest Goes to Beverly Hills
Content
I had to admit that the casting in this movie was nearly perfect. Almost perfect with one exception...Jim Varney. Not the fact he's a bad actor or too associated with Ernest, but because he was really too young. Still, he wasn't bad (you know what I mean?) and the story was funny. Not too much different from the TV show, just in color and a little more risque. Came out in a period where old sitcoms were being made into movies, and this one was better than the others.

SummaryThe Beverly Hillbillies
Content
I just like to watch Jim Varney play Jed Clampet. The Movie is funny and reminds me of the old tv series alot. Plenty of action and comedy the very thing Varney was good at. If you watched the Hillbillies as a kid you need to see this movie, I'm glad its finally coming out on dvd. Ill be on the waiting list.
