SummaryAftermath Of A School Shooting
Content
Starring Busy Phillips and Erika Christensen. Busy plays Alicia, a school misfit with an attitude problem and Erika plays Deanna, the classic goody goody overachiever. Both attend the same school. During the school shooting Deanna was shot in the head. After the fact Alicia has to go to the hospital and watch over or keep Deanna company after the shooting. The 2 girls form an unlikely friendship in the aftermath and each end up discovering eachother's secrets as they both try to cope with the violence or aftermath of the shooting. Only problem I have with this movie is it shows nothing of the killers of the shooting and it isnt about the shooters or why they did it , just the aftermath or relationship between 2 girls who are in the same school. They talk about how they are treated and others diffrent perceptions of them and try to analyze eachother. I was very disapointed. Overall its a decent movie if you are looking for relationships between people or diffrent generalizations placed on kids at school due to their appearance. But this tells nothing about the shooters or people who did it, why , etc.. Its very long and the ending is corny. I recomend the film ( Zero Day ) over this in a heartbeat. It is the best film ive seen so far this year and it shows the killers and is much more interesting and compelling than this movie. If you want a good movie about school shooting go buy Zero Day, Not this. This is about 2.5 stars and Zero days a 5 star movie. Enjoy it.

SummaryMissing the Point
Content
I believe a lot of people are missing the point of the whole school shooting aspect of the movie. You cannot simply place blame on one thing for why bad things happen. There's a whole spectrum of reasons why one certain event can happen. Trying to place blame one one thing for something as complex as a teenager killing multiple others is almost impossible to do. Not only does it vary from case to case, but for the act to even occur, the teen must be in a confused state of mind. Blaming "Pulp Fiction" or gun control isn't a rational way to explain why the event happened. This is what the film was trying to portray.

No one knows the real reason why tragedies such as this happen. Not even the person commiting the act truly understands why he or she is doing it. That's the point of this film.

However, the film tells this message in a beautiful way. Yes, the whole odd couple thing is cliche, but Busy Philipps' performance is what elevates this film beyond the cliche. While Ericka Christensen was rather good, Philipps is the reason why this film was so touching. She transformed this film into so much more than your typical odd couple film, but rather a realistic view of someone who has gone through serious depression and mental anguish. She serves as a guide to not only Christensen, but viewers as well. In one particular scene towards the end of Christensen's stay in the hostipal, she gives a heart wrenching scene outside in the dark as she explains how she copes with her depression and void of feelings.

This film is so much more than a movie about school shootings. It touches upon teenage social groups, depression/suicide, friendship and life as a teenager in today's world.

SummaryExcellent!!
Content
this movie is amazing, and such a tearjerker.. i love the friendship between the two, and the acting is excellent.. and heartbreaking

i have a question though, at the end of the moive, when they graduated and were crying.. was alicia crying about the school shooting or her baby? and i'm guessing Deanna was crying about the shooting, but that was an excellent scene.. and was so good

my fave movie!!

This is a great film. It is not only about a school shooting but it is about people. Everyday people who are trying to get by, and that is what makes this such a great film.
