 | This movie was hilarious from the opening credits, to the suggestions that coconuts migrate to.... well I guess I should "get on with it" my favorite parts were with the black knight, the killer rabbit, and the sir robin songs. And who would've thought that the Knights of Nih or whatever they're called wanted their sacrifice to be a shrubbery and the test of cutting the mightiest tree in the forest with...a herring?? They are defeat the knights of Nih by saying it, but their next obstacle is not so easy they must kill something vicious with big claws that can scratch you....the bunny of DOOM, It kills 3 people or five because Arthur can't tell the difference, but they throw the holy grenade at the bunny, then they go to the cave where a cartoon monster tries to eat them!!!!!! But thankfully the cartoon animator has a heart attack, then the bridge of death, OMG that part is so hilarious.......and the end...well you'll have to find out for yourself ;) |

 | I loved this movie the first time I saw it.It was possibly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The only letdown was the ending ..........what a stupid ending. The special features were all garbage. I recommend getting the VHS copy of this. Still a very good movie though. |

 | My eldest brother introduced me to the world of Monty Python last year, and of course I found it amazingly, brilliantly funny! He recently bought me the full box set of all Monty Python movies, and in my opinion, "The Holy Grail," is the funniest Monty Python ever...
Everything is well thought out and executed in true Python style. From the coconuts and the swallows to the witch burnings and killer bunny, this movie has it all: absurdity, humour, erm...tragedy? Ok not that really, but anyway. The storyline is simplistic but of course there are massive deviations from the actual story thanks to the British Police and various French K-nighits that constantly impede King Arthur's noble quest to find the Holy Grail. The whole Python group deliver a dynamite performance filled with fall-over-laughing skits and absurd situations, whether it's the difficulty of building a castle in a swamp or using a Trojan Rabbit to infiltrate the French Fortress.
The extras on the DVD include old movie posters and drawings for Nostalgic fans, an extra short on the use of coconuts (which I found incredibly useful for training swallows), Various sing-a-longs icluding a Lego Knight Version of the "Camelot" song and trailers from various films. All in all, this DVD has the most extra material on it for Python fans, so much so that it's on a whole other DVD. That's right, 2 DVDs! What more could you ask for?
If you love political and social satire, any Monty Python will have you laughing your head off. But if you like it in a Medieval setting, then "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," will be your cup of tea delivered by a European Swallow (African Swallows are larger but are non-migratory). Anyway, this movie kicks buttocks! 10/10 for the world's silliest men around! |

 | I had checked this movie out earlier this summer, and the movie more or less left me with questions in my mind, and the ending of this movie disappointed me. I had no idea the film was over when it ended, and I don't want to spoil it for you, of how it ended, I thought the film contiuned on disc 2, but no, so more of less, I am disappointed of how the film ended, this film just ended on a cliff hanger, and I wonder just how the people that saw this in the theatre reacted when the movie was over, were they as disappointed in the ending as I? And some of the cast members was in Monty Puthon's Spamalot that is currently playin on broadway in New York. King Arhtur (Graham Chapman) and his knights has all sorts of adventures, along with searching for a Holy Grail. So I think that maybe in less you are prepaid to be disappointed, or like movies that end in a cliff hanger, you will like this one, I haven't seen this movie since it was returned to the video store, it was a rental copy, but I just don't seem intrested in all of adding this to my dvd collection, or any time soon. And maybe if the ending could have been better, then I might have given this 5 stars, but it will just have to get 4 stars from me, but you can give this movie whatever you like, I don't know if at this point, that I will see any of the other Monty Python movies, but I had to ask myself, just who is this Monty Python? I confess I don't know who this character is, or why do this films, has his name in the title, since he doesn't even appear in the movie, or at least this one. |
