At the tender age of nine, Emma Bolger has already proven herself to be an incredibly talented actress. 

Emma made her acting debut opposite her sister Sarah in the critically acclaimed film "In America" (2002). She recieved much praise world wide for her charming and spectacular performace as Ariel, the youngest daughter of a couple struggling to come to terms with the death of their son, and moving to a new country. Emma was one of the first and only children to audition for the role- Jim Sheridan cast her on the spot, after being mesmerised by her performance. For her role in "In America", Emma was nominated for a Golden Satellite Award (2004) and a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award (2004), and righly won a Young Artist Award (2004), in the category Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Actress Age Ten or Younger. 

Following "In America", Emma kept busy, by playing a small yet adorable non-speaking role in the Irish movie "Intermision"(2003), and guest starred on 4 episodes of the Irish television series "Proof" as Orla Boland at the begining of 2004. 

Emma, who recently celebrated her ninth birthday, is currently wrapping up the filming of Heidi (2005), the story of a young orphan girl who is sent to stay with her grandfather in the High Alps. Emma stars are the lead, Heidi, and acts alongside leading actors Max Von Sydow, Geraldine Chaplin and Dame Diana Rigg.
