The River

At age 7, Eloise Mumford was inspired to act after seeing a local production of “South Pacific,” and she went on to perform in high school plays and at Olympia's Capital Playhouse. In 2008, Mumford landed a recurring role as Megan Emory in the television drama series “Crash,” which is based on the 2004 film of the same name. She appeared in the well received short film “Some Boys Don't Leave” (2009), directed by Maggie Kiley. She also understudied Elisabeth Moss in the Broadway production of David Mamet's “Speed the Plow.”

Mumford made a guest appearance in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2009, playing Vanessa) and “Mercy” (2009, playing Hannah) before having her first regular stint on the Fox drama series “Lone Star,” where she played Lindsay, Robert Allen's unsuspecting girlfriend in Midland. Premiered on September 20, 2010, the show, however, was axed after two episodes aired due to low ratings.

Mumford starred as Lena Landry, daughter of Russ Landry, missing cameraman, on the paranormal  series “The River,” which was broadcast on ABC from February 7, 2012 to March 20, 2012. She was cast as Sasha Stolezinsky, the head of the sorority, on “So Undercover” (2012), an action/comedy film directed by Tom Vaughan, written by Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl and starring Miley Cyrus, Jeremy Piven, and Mike O'Malley. She also starred in the Leslie Hope directed short “Buried Treasure” (2012) and in the Hallmark Hall of Fame TV film “Christmas with Holly” (2012).

Next up for Mumford, she starred opposite Naveen Andrews and Parminder Nagra on the ABC drama pilot “Reckless” (2013), portrayed Sue Lawson on the thriller movie “Drones” (2013), which was directed by Rick Rosenthal and written by Matt Witten, and was cast in the action movie “In the Blood” (2014), starring Gina Carano, Cam Gigandet and Danny Trejo. She also played the role of Max Minghella's girlfriend on the thriller movie “Not Safe for Work” (2014), directed by Joe Johnston.

Recently, Mumford portrayed Katherine “Kate” Kavanagh, Anastasia's best friend and roommate, in the movie adaptation of E.L. James' book, “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Directed by  Sam Taylor-Johnson and starring Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, the film was an instant box office success despite mixed reviews.

Mumford has completed filming the role of Syd on the upcoming comedy film “The Night Is Young” (2015), co-directed and co-written by Dave Hill and Matt Jones.

In 2017, Mumford is set to reprise her role as Kate on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.”
