American actress and singer Elizabeth Gillies is best known for playing Jade West on the hit  Nickelodeon sitcom “Victorious” (2010-2013). She debuted on Broadway at age 15 in the musical “13” (2008-2009), playing Lucy. Gillies also performed on the all three  soundtrack albums of “Victorious.”

Gillies is of Irish and Italian lineage. She can play keyboard and piano. She is a vegan.         


Childhood and Family:

Elizabeth Egan Gillies was born on July 26, 1993, in Haworth, New Jersey. Her nickname is Liz. She started acting professionally when she was 12.



Elizabeth Gillies made her professional acting debut at age 12. She began appearing in commercials for companies like Virgin Mobile, and made her television debut at age 14 in “The Black Donnellys” (2007), where she played the recurring role of Young Jenny. The same year, she played the role of Trinnie in the TV film “Locker 514” and voiced the character of Daphne in “Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom.” She went on to have a supporting role on “Harold” (2008), a comedy film starring Spencer Breslin, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nikki Blonsky, Ally Sheedy and Stella Maeve, and was cast in the minor role of Shelby Wexler in the direct to video film “The Clique” (2008), directed by Michael Lembeck.

Still in 2008, 15-year old Gillies made her Broadway debut in the original cast of “13,” where she played the role of Lucy. She got the two big numbers “Opportunity” and “It Can't Be True” along with smaller parts in other songs, like the title song, “Hey Kendra” and “Getting Ready.”  “13” ran until January 4, 2009.

After guest starring in “The Battery's Down” (2009), Gillies landed the main role of Jade West, the frenemy to Tori Vega, on the Nickelodeon comedy series “Victorious,” opposite Victoria Justice, Leon Thomas III and Matt Bennett. She was on the show from its debut on March 27, 2010 until its ended on February 2, 2013. A doll of her character was launched in 2012.

Gillies reprised her role as Jade West in the 2010 TV film “7 Secrets with Victoria Justice” and in an episode of “ iCarly” called “iParty with Victorious” in 2011. She went on to land guest spots in television shows like “Big Time Rush” (2011, as Heather Fox), “White Collar” (2012, as Chloe) and “Friend Me” (2012, as Emily). She provided the voice of Daphne on the animated television series “Winx Club: Enchantix” (2011).     

Gillies appeared in three of “Victorious” Soundtrack albums: “Victorious,” “Victorious 2.0” and “Victorious 3.0,” which was released on August 2, 2011, June 5, 2012, and November 6, 2012, respectively. She sang lead vocals in the songs “Give it Up” (with Ariana Grande) for the first album, “Take a Hint” (with Victoria Justice) for the second album and “You Don't Know Me” for the last album. Her vocals can also be heard in other songs like “I Want You Back,” “All I Want Is Everything,” “Leave It All To Shine,” “Don't You (Forget About Me),” “Shut Up 'N Dance” and “Five Fingaz to the Face.”

After “Victorious” departed the airwaves, Gillies guest starred as Tracy in an episode of “The Exes” called “Prelude to a Kiss” (2013). She also lent her voice for the episode “The Penguin Who Loved Me” (2013) of the animated TV series “The Penguins of Madagascar.”  

In 2014, Gillies will play Jade West in an episode of “Sam & Cat,” a crossover spin-off/sequel of both” iCarly” and “Victorious.” She will play Mandy in the upcoming horror/thriller film “Animal” (2014), opposite Jeremy Sumpter, Keke Palmer and Joey Lauren Adams.
