American actress Eden Sher is best known for portraying Sue Heck on the ABC comedy series “The Middle” (2009-?), from which she netted a Teen Choice nomination and two Young Artist nomination, and as Gretchen on the Showtime hit series “Weeds” (2006), where she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance. Sher made a cameo appearance on the film “Veronica Mars” (2014).

Childhood and Family:

Eden Rebecca Sher was born on December 26, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is a teacher. Eden has two siblings. She started acting in school plays and local theater when she was eight years old.

Eden Sher launched her professional acting career in 2001. She has done many commercials, including ads for Fruity Pebbles and Capital One, and appeared in the short film “Stick” (2001),  which was directed by Jamie Babbit.

Sher's first break arrived when she landed the regular role of Carrie Fenton, the intelligent teenage niece, on the ABC sitcom “Sons & Daughters,” which starred Fred Goss, Gillian Vigman and Jerry Lambert. Premiered on march 7, 2006, the show was axed in late April 2006 after 10 episodes broadcast, leaving one unaired episode.

Later that same year, Sher joined the cast of Showtime's “Weeds” in its second season in the recurring role of Gretchen. Along with co-stars like Martin Donovan, Alexander Gould, Allie Grant, Hunter Parrish, Elizabeth Perkins and Andy Milder, among others, she picked up a Screen Actors Guild nomination in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Sher next guest starred in television series such as “The O.C.” (2007, playing Jane), “The Middleman” (2008, playing Cindy Marshall), “Sonny with a Chance” (2009, playing Lucy), “Party Down” (2009, playing Monica McSpadden) and “Stalker Chronicles” (2010, playing Jenny). She also had a two episodic role on Disney XD's sitcom, “Pair of Kings” (2012-2013).

Since 2009, Sher has played the main character of Sue Heck on the ABC sitcom “The Middle,” which debuted on the network on September 30, 2009. For her bright turn as the socially awkward teen middle daughter, the actress was nominated for a 2010 Young Artist Award in the category of Best Performance in a TV Series - Recurring Young Actress, a 2011 Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Ensemble in a TV Series (sharing with Charlie McDermott and Atticus Shaffer) and a 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV: Female Scene Stealer.

In February 2014, Sher made a guest appearance in an episode of “Scotch Moses” called “Group Therapy.” She then had a cameo role on the big screen version of “Veronica Mars,” which was released theatrically in the US on March 14, 2014.

Sher will star alongside Adam McArthur in the upcoming animated television comedy “Star and the Forces of Evil.” The series is set to air in Disney Channel in Fall 2014. She is rumored to appear in the forthcoming comedy film “ImagiGARY” (2014), directed by, co-written by and starring Charlie McDermott.
