| This review is for those of you who may be parents, looking for films with clean fun and family values....please look elsewhere, because this is not it!
Technical feats aside, this Klump family is rude and crude. The dad mostly rants and talks down to everyone. And the Grandma only knows how to talk about sex and erections, and ends up dropping her robe for a "stripper," in trying to initiate sex with him, though she is supposedly happily married. This is just one of many objectionable content scenes.
I cringed a lot seeing this, and should have just dumped it, but hoped it would get better... I really can't imagine showing this to my children, or anyone. It's not family friendly, and not that funny. I just wanted to warn concerned parents.

This movie outshined its predecessor by a mile due mainly to Eddie Murphy. Murphy played his whole family, EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. His acting is absolutely genius and it leads to hilarious moments. There are many classic scenes, some involving the grandma. The plot is about the professor, who is about to get married but his bad self, Buddy Love, is acting up. When Buddy escapes, there are two professors runnning lose and the professor's got himself a problem. It has many hilarious moments, but is different than the original as it's unrated and has some naughty but absolutely HILARIOUS moments. Strongly recommended for anyone that wants some good laughs or that enjoyed the original.

The script was well written and janet & eddie were a good match in the film, 2 great african american legends in entertainment. What I don't understand is why they didn't give janet jackson's character denise more of a personality. It was the perfect chance for janet to show the world her acting skills, but this movie didn't do much of that for her, only at certain parts of the film. I hope janet does more movies in the future, saturday night live skits she did and will & grace looked very promising.

They say this version of the film is dirtier and funnier , but I still haven't found out the difference. They do cut out certain lines , and the imagery in some scenes are different. But I still love this movie , Granny is the best!! I hope I'm that sexually liberated when I'm 80 years old! The rest of the Klump family is funny , the bonus features rock , and Janet Jackson does a great job as Denise Ganes. Buy this DVD (and Janet's new album "Damita Jo") today.

Eddie Murphy is the king of comedy, and janet is the queen of pop, excellent combination right? It somewhat works here, but the only problem is that though janet shows promise in acting, she doesn't really have a role in this film that seperates the musician from the actress, Denise Gaines doesn't have much of a personality other than clinging to Sherman and flaunting her beautiful smile. I really think she was great on Good Times and Different Strokes back in the day and the Lena Horne movie she was supposed to do looked promising, but it got scrapped. I love the theme Doesn't Really Matter that was written and sung by janet and it was nice hearing it in the movie and soundtrack, it was a big summer hit, hitting #1 for 3 weeks. Eddie Murphy on the other hand is hilarious throughout the whole movie and he beautifully plays different roles of the Klump family, each one showing a different and humorous personality. The grandma one was my favourite. I didn't think all of the jokes in the film were funny, but there were some scenes in the movie that were childish yet extremely hilarious that had me laughing the loudest in the theater. I think the first one is better, but if you're interested in getting to know the other Klump family members more, you may want to check this out. And also if you like janet jackson, you'll want to see this, but don't expect another role like the one she had in Poetic Justice.
