Dree Crisman, sometimes also credited as Dree Hemingway or Dree Louise Hemingway, is an American model and actress. She has appeared in print advertisements and fashion shows for major companies like Channel, H&M, Gucci, Gianfranco Ferré, Calvin Klein and Givenchy, among others. Her acting credits include appearances along with her mother Mariel Hemingway in the TV film “Between Truth and Lies” (2006) and the movie “Archie's Final Project ” (2009). More recently, she starred in the film “The Truth About Angels” (2011).

Childhood and Family:

Dree Louise Crisman was born on December 4, 1987, and grew up in Idaho, USA. She is the daughter of actress and writer Mariel Hemingway (born November 22, 1961) and director/producer Stephen Crisman. She is the great-granddaughter of author and journalist Ernest Hemingway and granddaughter of writer and conservationist Jack Hemingway. Her aunt was fashion model and actress Margaux Hemingway. Dree attended Ernest Hemingway Elementary School in Idaho and later relocated to California for middle school and lived in Westlake Village, California's neighborhood of North Ranch. She attended Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, but left after two and a half year to pursue modeling. She also trained in classical Shakespearean acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

The Truth About Angels


Dree Crisman has been signed with diverse modeling agencies and represented major companies in print advertising and in fashion shows as well. In March 2009, she appeared for the first time in the fashion show for Givenchy in Paris. Three months later, she took part in the Calvin Klein resort show in New York. Later in September of the year, she traveled to London for the Topshop spring/summer 2010 show. The same season, she also walked down the runways for Shiatzy Chen, House of Holland, Karl Lagerfeld, Giles, Chanel and Rue du Mail shows.

In January 2010, Crisman became the new face of the Gianfranco Ferré advertising campaign. She has also appeared in campaigns for Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, H&M, Jean Paul Gautier, Paco Rabanne and A.Y. Not Dead . She has done editorials for major publications such as “Harpers Bazaar,” “i-D,” “ V,” “W,” “Numéro,” and Japanese, Russian, Chinese, German, British, French, “Teen” and American “Vogue.” She appears with Justin Bieber in the commercial of Bieber's new fragrance, “Someday.”

Apart from modeling, Crisman has landed several acting gigs. She made her debut as young ballet dancer in the 2001 film “Alex in Winder,” a comedy/drama directed and written by Drew Ann Rosenberg and starring Angela Gots, Robert Hays and Ellen Greene. Five years later, she resurfaced as Lisa in the made for television film “Between Truth and Lies” (2006), starring her mother, Mariel Hemingway. In 2008, Crisman was cast as Madison in the the comedy series “Gigantic,” opposite Courtney Halverson, before returning to features with a bit part in “Archie's Final Project ” (2009), a reunion with her mother. In 2010, she appeared as school girl #1 in the drama film “Privileged,” starring Adam Butcher, Nikki Reed and Julian Morris. Recently, in 2011, she portrayed Kristi in the film “The Truth About Angels,” opposite Antonio Del Prete, Simon Rex and Monique Gabriela Curnen.
