Donny Deustch is an American television personality and advertising executive. He is known to television viewers as the host of the CNBC talk show “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch” (2004-2008). He has also appeared in “The Apprentice with Donald Trump,” “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” “Entertainment Tonight” and “Today,” among other television shows. He is the Chairman and CEO of advertising and media business Deutch, Inc.

In 2007, Deustch welcomed a daughter, Daisy, with his former girlfriend Amanda Zacharia. He also has two more daughters, Cheley and London. He has been divorced from his wife Stacy Josloff.

Childhood and Family:

Donald Jay Deutsch, who would later be popular as Donny Deutsch, was born on November 22, 1957, in Queens, New York City, New York, to a Jewish family. He attended P.S. 188, Martin Van Buren High School, and later graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Deutsch married Stacy Josloff in 2000, but they have separated. He has three daughters, Cheley Deutsch, London Deutsch and Daisy Deutsch.

Donny Deutsch made his first television debut when he appeared in an episode of “Match Game 73” in 1979. He, however, was not recognized by television audiences until over two decades later when he appeared on several episodes of NBC's “The Apprentice with Donald Trump” between 2004-2005. He also appeared in “ Celebrity Poker Showdown” in 2004.

Deutsch's television career gained huge boost when he was recruited to host a talk show on CNBC called “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch.” The show premiered on July 25, 2004 and was canceled later on December 5, 2008. In 2008, he hosted the television show “Collaboration Now,” which debuted on October 12, 2008 .

Deutsch hosted “9th Annual Prism Awards” (2005) and “10th Annual Prism Awards” (2006) and was a Judge on “ Miss USA 2006.” He has appeared in episodes of a number TV shows like “The Tony Danza Show” (2005), “The View” (2007), “ Charlie Rose” (2008), “Late Night with Conan O'Brien” (2008), “ Paula's Party” (2008), “Today” (2006-2011) and “Rachael Ray” (2010-2011). He served as guest expert in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and was a regular guest on “Entertainment Tonight” (both in 2010).

Deutsch made his producing debut with the 2007 crime/mystery film “Awake,” which was directed and written by Joby Harold and starred Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba and Terrence Howard. There he served as co-executive producer.

Deutsch also has a career as an advertising executive. He is the CEO of advertising and media business Deutsch Inc., which was founded by his father. He sold the company to Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG) in 2000 for $265 million. His ad agency has provided prestigious clients such as GM, Johnson & Johnson, DirecTV, Novartis Worldwide, and IKEA with strategic marketing plans. In 2005, Deutsch published a business motivation book called “Often Wrong, Never in Doubt” through Harper Collins. He based the book on his career experiences and co-wrote it with Peter Knobler. His second book, “The Big Idea: How to Make Your Entrepreneurial Dreams Come True, From the Aha Moment to Your First Million,” which he wrote with Catherine Whitney, followed in 2008.

Deutsch now serves on two boards: UPenn’s School of Social Work’s Executive Committee and the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation’s Board of Directors.
