 | Lots of big names in this one! Donald Sutherland and Rutger Hauer pulled off a comedy title while still giving a stunning performance. Kristy Swanson played the airheaded cheerleader so well that it was difficult to take her character (BUFFY) seriously later in the film (This is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5). David Arquette was VERY FUNNY especially doing his impression of the cowardly lion. Lots of high school humor and pretty girls -- Boy, do I miss my High School days!
This movie is similiar to "Scary Movie" and "Army of Darkness" in that the settings are dark with the smell of death but you are too busy laughing to take the horror elements to seriuosly. Make NO mistake -- THIS IS A COMEDY (and it is a great one!) No Vile langauge and No Nudity in this one but because of the violent nature of the subject matter it earned a PG-13 rating. I give it two stakes up!!! |

 | Cute movie but the awesome TV show is way better! This is more of a fluffy sugar coated bubble gum pop cornish version! |

 | I love this video!!! It's very funny, and is much funner than the TV Series. Swanson is much more action packed and tougher than Geller. She really kicks butt in this flick. This film really surounds the whole alternative music scene. It's a fun film, and is worth a watch, to view the original Buffy. |

 | This movie is just so funny. If you are a Buffy fan, watch this movie. I didn't even know that Ben Affleck was in it(Basketball player). Also, the vampire role is a much better one for Paul Reubens. |

 | Really folks, those of you who came to be fans of the TV series before seeing the movie need to get a grip and lighten up. Whatever the original film was supposed to be, Buffy is just a silly, off-the-wall comedy in the same vein as classics like Weird Science and Ghostbusters. It's all about the laughs....get it? If you spend time picking apart character inconsistancies, plot plausibility, or actors' performances in a comedy, then the film is wasted on you. Stop holding it up against the series....which has had the advantage of having more time to develop and stir its ingredients. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the movie and the series are two completely different entities. So view them as such. Buffy is a pretty hilarious little romp that's great for some simple laughs. The obsurdity of the subject matter versus the characters around whom the plot revolves is what makes the film so refreshingly original. If you like dark, somewhat campy, or unusual comedies.......pick this one up. You're sure to have some good laughs. |
