In a 1982 interview, her father admitted that Diva was given the name as she was screaming louder than all the other infants in the hospital nursery. Diva is the sister of Moon Unit Zappa (stand-up comic, writer, actress; born September 28, 1967), Dweezil Zappa (heavy metal guitarist; born September 5, 1969) and Ahmet Zappa (musician; born May 15, 1974). When the Ball Drops Career: At the tender age of 6 months, Diva Zappa made her first on screen appearance on his father’s movie Baby Snakes (1979), which contains tons of on-stage footage, off-stage footage and animation of his 1977 Halloween concert at New York City's Palladium Theater. Twelve years later, she again appeared as herself in a documentary about his father, Peefeeyatko (1991), written and directed by Henning Lohner. In 1998, Diva joined her siblings, Moon Unit, Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa, in a drama comedy movie helmed by Jonathan Blank, Anarchy TV. That same year, she reunited with brother Ahmet in the fifth installment of the Children of the corn series, Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (V; also starring Greg Vaughan, Eva Mendes, Alexis Arquette, Kane Hodder and David Carradine). On television, she shared the screen with Lukas Haas, Sidney Poitier and Brittany Murphy in a made-for-TV film based on the novel by Theodore Isaac Rubin, David and Lisa. She also played a leading role, as Nathan Bexton's best girl friend named Violet, in writer-director Jeff Jenkins' comedy Play Dead. After four years “disappeared” from the screen, Diva returned in with a guest role in a February 2005 episode of CBS and CTV’s cop drama "CSI: NY."
