SummaryVery good movie
Content
Diana Ross was miscast as Dorothy in this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow, Nipsey Russell as the Tin Man, and Ted Ross as The Lion. Lena Horne was fantastic as well. This movie is well worth the watch.

SummaryTHE WIZ
Content
With the events of Michel Jackson and his court case my seven year old wanted to know more about him. I took her back to my memories of him and one of the things I told her about was "THE WIZ". I went to Amazon and they sent it so fast it made my head spin and the price was cheaper than it was listed in Target even with the shipping. My daughter and I watched it and it evoked the same thrilling experience I felt as a young person. We laughed our heads off at Micheal trying to stand for the first time as the scare crow, and the great Tony Ross who played the cowardly lion. My daughter laughed herself silly at Nipsey Russel who played the tin man being crushed by the "Tiny" who was sitting on him. She told me "Micheal Jackson had better stop pulling all of those Newspaper pieces out of his body or everyone is going to know its Micheal Jackson!" To date we sing together every day one of the great great songs. Buy it! It creates memories for generations to come.

SummaryHORRIBLE HORRIBLE Film
Content
Aside from this DVD not being 16:9 and including zero extras, the film itself is extremely boring, the songs or terribly written and witless, and the acting is the pits and pathetically miscast in almost every department (outside of Michael Jackson who does a brilliant job). The only "hits" from the show on more chants than songs, I would much rather watch The Apple or Xanadu or eat live rodents than have to suffer through this again.

SummaryThe Magic of "The Wiz"
Content
I absolutely love this movie. I remember watching it when I was a kid and being absolutely emersed in the film. You see, the first movie I ever remember seeing on the big screen was "The Wizard of Oz". Yes, it was re-release in '76 at the cinema down the road. And to see the same story recreated opened my mind to tolerance of a story, a classic story, retold in a different way. I am always amazed to read or hear "Wizard" fans put it down, when they should embrace it as the same story told in a modern way. They obviously have no tolerance of things different. Hope they dont hear or see "Wicked"??

SummaryVery Entertaining
Content
I always thought it would be cool if this movie was remade with every new generation's afro-american superstars. For example: In 2005 Dorothy would be Beyonce. The Scarcrow could be Usher.
