 | I haven't watch Crazy People in years but now I realize I have to watch this again. Anyone who appreciates the world of advertising, or who is having a breakdown over advertising would appreciate this movie for sure. :) The "Hello" guy is definately memorable and the song he sings will stick in your head for years to come... "Hello" Hello Hello, What a wonderful word, Hello... and so forth.
I really got a kick out of this movie , its silly, funny and yet witty. I love the concept of a man who worked in advertising takes a breakdown and does commercials and doesnt care who he offends... uniquely funny |

| In this movie Dudley Moore playes Emery, an advertsing executive who is slowly gowing crazy. Then his employer sends him to a Mental Institution for some much needed rest and Therapy.However Emery's latest Ads have become a big hit and he is seen as an advertising genius.Once again Hollywood makes fun of the serious issue of Mental Illness without having any social conscience whatsoever. I give this movie 5 stars because I do like Daryl Hannah and her character in this movie is about the only one who is believable. |

| I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it with my parents 15 years ago. My mom and I still sing "the hello song". It has become like a family staple. I'm so glad its finally on DvD. I've been waiting for awhile for that! I bought it as soon as I found out it was on dvd. If you haven't seen this movie...do see it. you will be sooo glad you did. This movie is simply hilarious. I love it!!!! and its on dvd now, so no excuses. you can buy it on VHS, DVD, and even LASERDISC if you can find it and still have a player! This movie ROCKS! |

| "Crazy People" takes an amusing look at the Advertising Industry. How I wish the hillarious commercials and billboards in this film were real! The basic premise of this film is that an advertising executive, Emery (played by Dudley Moore), decides that he wants to be honest and stop lying to the public. He is sent to a mental hospital, and thought to have had a nervous breakdown, when he presents his newest brainstorms to his boss. In the meantime, his ads get printed in error, which are an overnight sensation. The CEO of the advertisement company decides that Emery is an advertising genius and the fun begins, as Emery and his fellow mental patients write the most hillarious commercials you can imagine. There are some silly parts to this film, but you will not be able to stop laughing at the ads written by the crazy people. Darryl Hannah also stars in this film. In addition, there is a great character in this film that is a particular favorite of mine. I refer to him as the "Hello" man. He is one of the mental patients who writes commercials. He resembles Larry of the Three Stooges and his favorite word is "Hello". I won't spoil it for you, but keep your eye on him, he is a riot. As the credits are rolling at the end of this film, you will see words to the "Hello Song" (sung by the "Hello" man) with bouncing ball on the words, so you can sing along. Very funny! Don't miss this one!

| My family has loved this movie for many years. The man who plays "the hello guy" must have a name but whenever we see him in anything else, we always say, "Hey, it's the hello guy!" Then there's the comment Moore's character makes about the guy on the car phone. Something like "People who talk on car phones annoy other drivers!" (As he yanks it out and throws it off the bridge. Priceless!) We do not have this movie in our home inventory and are only buying DVD's these days. Why isn't this movie on DVD yet?? I would definitely purchase it if it were available. |
