SummaryBetter on TV
Content
The Coneheads seem a lot less strange in the movie than they did on Saturday Night Live. The movie Coneheads don't continually freak out unsuspecting visitors or do anything of that sort, which is what they always did TV. When the Coneheads first started out on TV, you'd see someone visit the Conehead house, get freaked out by the weirdness of it all, and (usually) run away.

Oh sure, there are parts in the film where people get freaked out, but no one runs away, so the Coneheads actually start to blend in. When that happens, the Coneheads just aren't as funny. Also, I think the higher budget of the movie and its elaborate storyline took away a lot of the goofiness that made the original Coneheads so great to watch.

despite the negative reviews, I laughed out loud alot during Coneheads. And the movie is a fairy tale of sorts...despite their VERY obvious differences in appearance & mannerisms, the Coneheads were still treated as equals by their neighbors & friends, and they were able to live in (relative) harmony & mingle amongst the rest of society. Only in the movies! But, it did give the movie an undertone of warmth IMO. Dan Ackroyd is hilarious, and Chris Farley's role makes me miss him even more (not to mention the legendary Phil Hartman, too). I think Coneheads is worth watching...it's nothing heavy, just a light but very humorous movie...

SummaryNot as Good as the Original SNL Skits but it's a Good Movie!
Content
After I heard people putting this movie down I was surprised when I watched it that I actually liked it and didn't think it was as bad as they said, sure it's not as funny as the original SNL Conehead skits with Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin and Laraine Newman but it was good on it's ownright and Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin were very good. Though I prefer Laraine Newman as Connie in the original SNL skits (which can be seen on Comedy Central) I thought Michelle Burke was good as Connie in this movie. I had this movie on video and I plan on buying this movie on DVD and I definitely recommended this movie to SNL fans.
