Background:

A relative newcomer to the entertainment industry, D.J. Cotrona, who made his national television debut with a guest-starring role on the NBC drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” has co-starring roles on the TV series "Skin" (2003-2004; as Adam Roam) and "Windfall" (2006; as Sean Mathers).

He also has starred in the films "Venom" (2005) and "Love Is the Drug" (2006). The up-and-coming actor is also rumored to star as Superman/Clark Kent in the upcoming Warner Bros. Film, "Justice League: Mortal."

Childhood and Family:

In Wallingford, Connecticut, Donald Joseph Cotrona, nicknamed “D.J.,” was born in May 1980. He was named after his father, but his mother didn't like that name.

Cotrona went to a high school called Sheehan, which is located in Walling. He is class of '98. Having been skateboarding since 12, Cotrona went to Northeastern University in Boston to study law, but took an acting class and changed his mind.

Career:

A pre-law at Northeastern Univeristy in Boston, D.J. Cotrona decided to pursue acting full-time after visiting a family friend in Los Angeles during his spring break his sophomore year. After making his national television debut with a guest-starring role on the NBC drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” he landed a regular role as Adam, the son of Los Angeles District Attorney Tom Roam (played by Kevin Anderson), on the drama series "Skin," which aired on the FOX network in 2003 and later reprieved in 2005 on the SOAPnet.

Meanwhile, he co-starred in the crime/drama TV movie "Hollywood Division" (2004) and made his first film alongside Agnes Bruckner, Jonathan Jackson, Laura Ramsey, Meagan Good, and Method Man in director Jim Gillespie's horror/thriller set in the bayous of Louisiana, United States, "Venom" (2005).

After making his second film, "Love Is the Drug" (2006; with John Patrick Amedori, Lizzy Caplan, Jenny Wade, Jonathon Trent, and Daryl Hannah), an independent by Elliott Lester, Cotrona was cast as Sean Mathers, alongside Sarah Wynter, Lana Parrilla, and Luke Perry, on NBC drama series "Windfall," which ran from June 8, 2006 to August 31, 2006.

Cotrona most recently rumored to star as Superman/Clark Kent in the upcoming Warner Bros. film "Justice League: Mortal."
