Epic Movie

While pursuing her MFA degree at UC Irvine, Crista Flanagan performed in many theatrical productions such as “Oklahoma!,”  “The Time of Our Life,” “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” “Fool for Love” and “The Marriage of Figaro.” With an extensive background in theater, she eventually developed a one person show called “But wait…I have Impressions!.” Flanagan entered television in 2003 when she landed guest spots in the hit shows “ER” (playing Pam)  and “The Practice” (playing Marcia).

Flanagan's big break arrived when she joined the cast of the sketch comedy show “MADtv” in season 10 in 2005 as a feature performer. She became a repertory cast member in season 6, and would remain on the show until it ended in May 2009. During her stint on the show,  Flanagan did a number of impersonations of celebrities, such as America Ferrera, Angela Cartwright, Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan, Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson, Rachel McAdams, Vanessa Hudgens, Tom Cruise, Ellen Pompeo, Miley Cyrus, Alex Hooser, Heidi Klum, Patricia Arquette (as Allison DuBois from Medium), Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks, and others.

While working on “MADtv,” Flanagan also made a guest appearance as Mrs. Seiderman's Nurse in an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” called “The Larry David Sandwich” (2005) and later, in 2009, she played Andrea in an episode of “The New Adventures of Old Christine” called “Honey, I Ran Over the Kid.” From 2007 to 2009, she had a recurring role as Lois Sadler in the drama series “Mad Men.” The actress made her film debut in the commercially successful parody “Epic Movie” (2007), which was directed and written by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. There she portrayed the role of Hermione Granger. She then played Ugly Betty Look-a-Like/Oracle and Spartan Woman on another Jason Friedberg/Aaron Seltzer parody film, “Meet the Spartans” (2008), which was also a box office success, despite receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews. In the critically panned parody film “Disaster Movie” (2008), she played Juney, a parody of Juno, and Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus.

Flanagan played Dawn in three episodes of “Hank” between 2009-2010. She appeared as Stacy Hodges in the 2010 episode “The Pasadena Primary” of “Brothers & Sisters” and as Kennedy in the 2010 episode “Big Time Live” of “Big Time Rush.” Also in 2010, she reunited with Seltzer and Friedberg for “Vampires Suck,” a vampire spoof film based on the “Twilight” film series, where she played the role of Eden Sullen. She posed nude for Playboy magazine for the August 2010 issue.

Next up for Flanagan, she guest starred in television series like “Cougar Town” (2011), “Last Man Standing” (2013), “2 Broke Girls” (2013), “Key and Peele” (2013), “You're Whole” (2013), and had a three episodic part as Marion on “Hello Ladies” (2013). She portrayed Ms. Wickersham in the comedy series “Trophy Wife” (2013-?). Flanagan also had roles on the made for TV films “Beautiful People” (2012) and “Garden Apartments” (2013) as well as in the short film “Buried Treasure” (2012).

Flanagan was cast as Janet on Friedberg and Seltzer's new project, “Best Night Ever” (2014).
