With a resume that would make many of her peers and longtime veterans
envious, 21 year old Christy Carlson Romano has been working non-stop as an
entertainer and actor since the age of six. She has starred on Broadway;
appeared in feature films and starred in two Emmy nominated television series,
and is nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award, 2005 for Best Performance in an
Animated Show for her role of Kim Possible. Christy's latest work this summer
includes two starring roles "Campus Confidential" for ABC Family, which will air
late summer, and "The Cutting Edge 2", an MGM film, which will be available on
DVD during the Winter Olympics, distributed by New Line Cinema. Christy has also
had recent success in selling three songs that she has written; "Note to Self"
was sold to the Mattel Toy Company, for their guitar holding Barbie doll;
"Fearless", which will be recorded by a new Sony artist; and "Take Me to Your
Leader", which will be featured in an upcoming film titled "Guide to Guys", that
will be released direct to DVD.
Disney Records released, in the fall of 2004, her CD of her vocal Disney
projects. Christy also starred in two of the highest rated Disney Channel
original movies, “Cadet Kelly” and “ The Even Stevens Movie”, which are now
available on DVD. The DVD's include commentaries by Christy, and bonus games
also voiced by Christy.
Christy starred on Broadway as “Belle” in “Beauty & the Beast” for seven months
to a sold out house. She is currently appearing at selective concert engagements
across the county promoting her CD of her Greatest Disney TV and Movie Hits. She
also recently appeared as a guest star on both Joan of Arcadia and Summerland.
She can be seen on the Disney mania 3 Concert as well as her latest Disney Video
“Could It Be”. Giving a surprise ending to the “Kim Possible” Series. Christy is
the voice of the new game “Scene It” Deluxe Disney Style, to be released in
2005, as well as the voice of the DVD bonus track game of both “Cadet Kelly” and
“Even Stevens”. She is currently working on her first Teen fiction novel with
Hyper ion Books, to be released in August 2006. Christy is also working with
songwriters on her own songs, with the intention of releasing her own album late
in 2005. Christy was recently honored by the Speaker of the House, State of
Connecticut, as the first recipient of the “Connecticut Finest Award” for her
being a positive role model both on and off the screen as well as a
Congressional Proclamation as well as being honored by her hometown, Milford
Connecticut, in being presented the “Keys to the City” and being awarded Christy
Carlson Romano Day.

Christy is best known for her starring role as Ren Stevens in the Emmy nominated
series all 3 seasons, Baftra winner, “Best Family Show”, as well as Emmy
nominated, Woman Image Award winner, “Kim Possible” series. Christy was
nominated for the Woman Image Award. She was also recognized by Rolling Stone
Magazine as one of its “Five on the Rise” of upcoming female artists. Christy
was also chosen by Variety in 2000 as “Top 10 Talents to Watch” and was also
awarded “Leading Actress Comedy Series” by Young Talent Awards in both 2000 and
2001.
Christy is on professional leave from Barnard College at Columbia University.
She has completed 1 ½ years. After her freshman year, Christy spent her summer
doing Congressional Internship for Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd. Christy
is a political science major, emphasis on human rights. After completing a
course on International Diplomacy at American University while participating in
a National Diplomacy Student Leadership Conference in the summer of her junior
year of high school, she recognized how important it is to be politically aware
as well as to be involved as a young voice in this country. She feels even
though she may not be equipped to save the world like her animated alter ego
“Kim Possible”, she would like to help as much as she can.
Christy began her career in musical theatre and has also lent her talents to
commercials, voiceover work, and books on tape as well as cast albums. She
studied dance, voice and trained in ice skating and other numerous sports and
has won many awards and medals in many different areas as a young child. She
earned her Screen Actors Guild membership at age six and her Aftra and Equity
membership at age seven.
At age 12, she was fortunate to sit in holding with three former
commanders-in-chief at The Presidents Summit for America’s Future. She was later
honored when President George Bush senior and his wife Barbara came to watch her
performance in Agatha Christie’s “Spider Web” in the role of Pippa at the
Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. By the age of 14, she has performed extensively in
three Broadway plays and traveled across the United States and Canada twice. By
the age of 19, she starred on Broadway as the youngest and the 10th anniversary
“Belle” in “Beauty & the Beast”.
A veteran of stage and screen, Christy’s extensive theatre work includes Mary
Phagen, the Lana Turner role in the Hal Prince production of “Parade” at Lincoln
Center. “Parade” was nominated for nine Tony Awards and won Best Musical Score.
She played Marta in “The Sound of Music”, with Marie Osmond under the direction
of James Hammer stein. She also played James Rogers in the “Will Rogers Follies”
with Keith “Caradine and Mac Davis under the direction of Tommy Tune. Other
theatre work includes “ Ruthless” as Tina Denmark, “Stars in Your Eyes”, as Jo,
Agatha Christie’s “Spider Web” as Pippa, “”Annie” as Molly, “The Night of the
Hunter as Mary, “Just One World” as Zoë, “Tatiana in Color” as Antonia, and as a
soloist in “Broadway Kids Sing Broadway”. Christy has also performed Thesis Work
of students of NYU Graduate Studies Musical Theatre Writing Program.
Christy also has impressive list of feature films including Woody Allen’s
“Everyone Says I Love You” as Chiquita Banana, Hal Hartley’s Sony Classic
release of “Henry’s Fool” as Pearl, and “Looking for an Echo” as Armand
Assanti’s cancer-stricken daughter.
She has performed in Dr. Seuss Children’s Opera with the composer Rob Kapilow at
the Ravinia Music Festival in Chicago, with the Kansas City Symphony in Kansas
City, at Jordan Hall in Boston, and with the New Jersey State Opera. Again with
Rob Kapalow, she sang the role of Princess Lenore in “Many Moons, a Children’s
opera based on the famous children’s book, both with Boston and the Bank of
Boston Pop Family Series and at Princeton University with the New Jersey State
Opera.

Princess”.
Christy has also made National Television singing appearance on the Rosie
O’Donnell Show and the NBA All Star Game at Madison Square Gardens, as well as
recently on Regis and Kelly, She traveled to the United Kingdom to be a
presenter on the Disney Channel Kids Awards. She has also hosted two seasons of
the Disney Hour for the Children’s Miracle Network, Wired Teen for Tek T.V., and
the 50th Anniversary of Disney Parks this Spring.
Christy has participated for many years, performing in fund-raising benefits for
Equity Fights Aids, The Actors Fund, Leukemia Foundation, American Heart
Association, Unicef 50th Anniversary, The Professional Children’s School
Musicale and Spring Benefits, she has dedicated the proceeds of her “Ready for
Action” Mickey Statue to the Children’s Miracle Network, she has participated in
Make a Wish Foundation, and has done PSA’s for the Child’s Safety Network on the
Internet.
Christy has studied Ballet at the School of American Ballet and is a graduate of
The Processional Children’s School, both of New York City.
