 | Boy, do I love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. This movie really is like no other! Only Johnny and Tim can make a movie that frightens, but is also funny!
The movie is so dark and eerie, it might as well be in black and white! But that's Burton's trademark. Ichabod Crane (Depp) is sent to the creepy town of Sleepy Hollow, to investigate murders. But not just murders, decapitations! It is the tale of the headless horseman, played by Christopher Walkin, who plays the part perfectly. He is terrifying...his teeth are filed sharp and his eyes are transparent!! Do not let little children see this movie! Anyway, as Ichabod slowly unravels the mystery of the killer, he meets and falls for Katrina Van Tassel (Christina Ricci) who is strangely connected to all the murders...
The best thing about this movie is Depp's acting as Ichabod. Ichabod's character is so comical! He investigates murders, but yet he behaves like a little girl, squeamish and terrified of everything...even spiders! I can't help but laugh hysterically when he is in bed with the covers around his face and he says, "it was a horseman...headless!" And he keeps repeating that until he passes out from sheer fright. This movie is another example that proves Johnny's acting is unparalleled.
I wouldn't call this a horror movie, but it IS scary, it IS gory (LOTS of bloody decapitations...), it IS creepy, it IS dark, and it IS a masterpiece. |

 | Sleepy Hollow is in my opinion Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's best movies. It was excellent! It is a dark movie putting Washington Irving's classic story to the big screen. The movie is therefore about Ichobod Crane (Johnny Depp) sent to Sleepy Hollow from New York to investigate a series of murders. The murders all have one thing in common. The murdered people all have been decapitated and their heads are missing. Everyone in the town thinks that the headless horseman is the murderer. Crane thinks that they are joking until he has an encounter with him.
The movie is fascinating with a haunting score by Danny Elfman, gorgeous visuals, wonderful acting and an awesome ending. The movie also has awesome fights and adventure scenes.
This movie is definitely on my top 25 films of all time. It's a movie that everyone should see. The visuals alone make this a must see. It's a movie that I will definitely rewatch soon and a lot in the future. This isn't worth a rent. NO, BUY IT!!!!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT! You rock Tim Burton! |

 | Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are truly a match made in cinematic heaven. All of their collaborations have been stellar, and this movie is no exception. Depp's comic take on Ichabod Crane is authentic and inspired, he has become a delight to see in nearly everything he does, Depp holds an onscreen sense of magic that is rarely ever seen. Tim Burton is also one of my favorite directors. He almost always tackles very unique and interesting visions unlike the normal crop of directors, he breathes a new life into his films, a breath that surely wouldn't have existed in lesser hands. The originality and daring of Burton and Depp really makes this film and their others gems. I just recently saw their version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and despite some reservations about the remake(I am a big fan of the Gene Wilder version)the film came off as a new and inventive take on the story. I applaud one of filmdom's great film pairings, Burton and Depp. |

 | This is certainly one of Tim Burton's best films. The look of the film is incredible and Johnny Depp and the whole cast is excellent. Everything about SLEEPY HOLLOW is first rate, from the sets, cinematography, and music, to the costumes and special effects and make-up. Tim Burton has created a brilliant, timeless, gothic fantasy masterpiece. I still watch this movie every Halloween night. Make sure and check this one out. |

 | When I first read that Tim Burton would be doing a remake of 'The Headless Horseman' tale, I couldn't wait. After I found out Johnny Depp was cast as Ichabod Crane, I flipped. THEN, I see a unique and awesome cast made up of Christina Ricci, Casper Van Dien, Christopher Walken AND Christopher Lee in the movie?!?! Truly a slice of Horror Heaven! Exceptional scenery, acting and atmosphere, this is as good as it gets when it comes to modern day horror movies, (eventhough it was set in the late 1700's). One of Johhny Depp's best performances and a one of a kind horror movie. Definitely worth the price of admission and worth watching more than once1 |
