Childhood and Family: Chris Ackerman was born Christopher George Ackerman on May 16, 1978, in Edison, New Jersey. His father's name is George M. Ackerman. Growing up in New Jersey, he developed a love for surfing and spent much time on the beach. He has moved to California. Chris is married to Rachel Veltri.
Career: Chris Ackerman worked as a model before he entered the acting world. He has done campaigns for companies such as DKNY, Levis, Diesel and Nautica, among others. His first acting job arrived when he landed the villainous role of Tattoo in the superhero film “Elektra” (2005), a spin off from the 2003 film “Daredevil,” starring the Marvel comics character Elektra Natchios (played by Jennifer Garner). The film, directed by Rob Bowman, received mostly negative reviews from critics. It made a total of $24,409,722 domestically, making the film the lowest for a movie featuring a Marvel Comics character since “Howard the Duck.” The film had a worldwide total of $56,681,566. Ackerman played the title character on “Wannabe” (also 2005), a 15 minute drama film directed by Annelize Bester. In 2009, Ackerman was cast as Henry David Thoreau in the short film “Marbles with Thoreau,” which was written and directed by Melody George. The film won the Crystal Heart Award for Short Film at the 2009 Heartland Film Festival. In 2010, Ackerman made his producing debut with the short film “The Director”s Choice,” in which he also starred as a world famous director, Daniel Gerrard. The film was directed and scripted by Scott Luebbert. Ackerman is set to play the role of Shoe in Wesley Wittkamper's upcoming drama film, “Making Change.” The film will star Steve Guttenberg, Ed Begley Jr. and Cam Gigandet.
