Carey Lowell reached stardom when she played Pam Bouvier in Licence to Kill.(1989) Since then she has gone on to do a number of successful supporting roles. But her most important one has been as wife of Richard Gere and Mother of their child, Homer James Jigme Gere. She has taken a short break from acting and has mounted a comback in 2003 after her child, Homer, was old enough to be left alone. She is more known as a television star then a film actress. Her role in Law & Order has garnered her a steady paycheck and critical acclaim.
Her childhood was interesting one and she grew up on three different continents including, Libya (Africa), Holland (Europe), and Texas (North America). She originally started working as a model instead of and actress and was discovered by the Ford Agency. She started posing in magazines for advertising products lines for companies like Calvin Klein and Johnny Walker. She also auditioned for a role on ER but was rejected. Her career is also distinguished with many Screen Actors Guild awards in her name.
