The Wonder Model of Wonderbra
Background:
Hitting the spotlight in the UK, California native model Caprice Bourret is most
recognized as being the figure for Wonderbra although she has been on more than
300 magazine covers, posed for the 1998 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and
did a nude layout for Playboy.
Caprice branched out in her career by adding singing to her forte. She released
her CD single debut Oh Yeah in 2000, and is presently working on a follow-up
album. Caprice also intended to
prove herself as a multi talent by attempting acting for stage theaters,
markedly in the musical Rent, in which she was highly praised. On TV, she has
played hostess for a handful of television shows including a memorable gig with
Johnny Vaughan in The Big Breakfast.
This blonde sensation has been romantically connected to a number of famous
names including musician Rod Stewart, business owner James Woolf and former
soccer idol Tony Adams.
"I've always wanted to be a real tart, to just be able to sleep around and not
really care, but I can't." Caprice Bourret
"I just want to date someone who makes me happy. Things are simple, it is us
human beings that make it difficult," Caprice Bourret
Caprice finally did find love with younger man Alex Davis.
The public seems happy with Caprice. Along with her accomplishments, she pays
attention to her surroundings. Caprice works as the ambassador for the Princes
Trust and chairman for ChildLine. Additionally, she is a committee member for
Action on Addiction, Jewish Blind and Disabled, Breast Cancer Awareness, and
Battersea Dogs Home.
California Roots
Childhood and Family:
In Hacienda Heights, California, Caprice Bourret was born on October 24, 1974.
After a successful modeling career in London, Caprice relocated back to
California in hopes of building her career. Currently she owns a house in Long
Beach, California.
The Venture of Caprice
Career:
Caprice began her successful modeling career in England, later returning to the
United States. The attractive blonde stands 5'11'' with measurements of 35-25-34
making her one of the most admired models on Earth. Her stunning looks have
graced such popular magazines as Esquire, GQ, New Woman, Woman's Journal, You,
Sunday Times Style, FHM, Attitude, Sunday Telegraph, and in 1998 she posed for
the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Regarding her work with Wonderbra, Caprice noted, "It was good because it helped
me get where I'm at today, but then people stereotype and say we don't want to
use her because she's known as the 'Wonderbra girl.'"
This image may have contributed to Caprice being cut from UK's TV series Heaven
on Earth (1998). The manager of the film said, "The owner decided the film shoot
was not in keeping with our place in the market. We consider this sort of
publicity unsuitable for the type of person we are trying to attract."
However, Caprice's status is so secure she is able to lock in top advertisement
slots with companies such as for Pantene, Simpson's, and Pizza Hut. Later
commercials include Littlewoods, H&M, and Marks & Spencer. Caprice has become
the face of ParadisePoker.com and has joined Kim Basinger and Courtney
Cox-Arquette to be featured with Diet Coke in 2003.
Caprice also made the transition to the small screen. Her TV debut was in 1997
with hosting both the European MTV awards and the Monaco World Music Awards. She
also hosted the British National Television Awards as well as VH1 (USA) and E!
Entertainment. Caprice has a broad range of TV appearances including being the
presenter for ABC's American Music Awards and An Evening At The Oscars.
The ITV1's Caprice Travels on Sky was Caprice's first series followed by BBC1's
Friday Night's All Wright. Most notably, Caprice worked as the presenter of The
Big Breakfast together with Johnny Vaughan and hosted 1998's FHM Preview. She
then starred as Channel 4's Being Caprice, a documentary of her own, as well as
Celebrities Disfigured. At Christmastime, 2002, Caprice portrayed the role of
Nancy Sinatra in the show Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes.
Continuing to branch out, Caprice acted in London's West End Theater playing the
lead role in the 2002 The Vagina Monologues directed by Eve Ensler. She earned
rave revues and followed up with the musical Rent in London's Prince of Wales
Theatre. Hello Magazine noted, "She has splendid comic timing and she can belt
out a number with the best of them."
As her fans expected, Caprice then made a switch to films. She initiated playing
a character role (co-starring Greg Wise) in the humor Hospital (1997), then
continued with another lead in the sitcom Loved By You.
Caprice then went on to land a double contract with GFT Entertainment to play a
role in the film Hollywood's Flies (Vinnie Jones and Brad Renfro). Caprice also
dipped into the world of filmmaking with the independent Nailing Vienna for Sky
Movies and Bubbles, the latter of which gained a nomination for the Rushes Film
Festival award in 2002.
A sharp businesswoman, Caprice introduced the Caprice Lingerie Linewith, the
Caprice Ceramic Hair Straighteners (introduced in July 2003) and followed up
with other beauty products released Christmas 2004. The line includes Caprice
Colour Hair Extentions, Compact Hair Dryer and Diffuser, and a Chrome Lighted
Mirror. Add these goodies to her flourishing posters and calendars and Caprice
is on the business roll.
