Stefanie Scott is an American actress and singer. She is best known to
television audiences for playing Lexi Reed on Disney Channel's
“A.N.T. Farm” (2011-2014), from which she won a Young
Artist Award. She won another Young Artist Award for her supporting
performance on the 2010 film adaptation of Wendelin Van Draanen's
novel, “Flipped.” One of Hollywood's most promising young
talents, Scott also collected Young Artist nominations for her work on
“Chuck” (2008), “Beethoven's Big Break” (2008),
“The New Adventures of Old Christine” (2009) and “No
Strings Attached” (2011).
Scott is an ambassador for Cookies for Kids Cancer which raises funds to find a cure for pediatric cancer.
Childhood and Family:
Stefanie Scott was born Stefanie Noelle Scott on December 6, 1996, in
Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to Melbourne, Florida when she was
six years old. She attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in
Melbourne, the same private school attended by Kate Upton, before
turning into home schooling in 2010. She hopes to enroll at her
father's Alma mater, Northwestern University.
Stefanie has two older brothers, Trent, who is studying law at
UCF, and Troy, who was included in Top 100 Jr. golfers in Golfweek
8 year old Stefanie Scott made her acting debut in a production of
“Annie.” She went on to work in commercials, print ads,
live vocal shows and theatre before moving to Los Angeles to further
pursue her career.
At 12, Scott had her first television guest spot in “Chuck”
in the 2008 episode “Chuck Versus the DeLorean,”
where she played young Sarah Walker. The role brought her a Young
Artist nomination for Best Performance in a TV Series - Guest Starring
Young Actress. The same year, she portrayed Katie in the direct to
video “Beethoven's Big Break,” starring Jonathan Silverman,
Jennifer Finnigan and Moises Arias. For her fine performance, the
actress was nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category of Best
Performance in a DVD Film. Scott continued to make guest appearance in
television shows like Disney Channel's “Special Agent Oso”
(2009, as the voice of Emma), “The New Adventures of Old
Christine” (2009, received a Young Artist nomination for playing
Britney Burke) and “Sons of Tucson” (2010, playing Molly).
On the movie front, Scott was cast as Dana Tressler in Rob Reiner's
drama film “Flipped” (2010), starring Madeline Carroll,
Callan McAuliffe and Rebecca De Mornay, and won a Young Artist for Best
Performance in a Feature Film - Supporting Young Actress for her work.
She also received a Young Artist nomination for her scene stealing turn
as Young Emma in “No Strings Attached” (2011), a
comedy/romance film directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Natalie
Portman, Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Kline.
Scott's big break arrived when she won the lead role of Lexi Reed, a
Chyna’s biggest rival at Webster High, on the Disney Channel teen
sitcom “A.N.T. Farm,” opposite China Anne McClain, Sierra
McCormick, Jake Short, Carlon Jeffery and Aedin Mincks. The show
premiered on May 6, 2011.
Scott starred with Bella Thorne, Zendaya, Nick Robinson and Mary Mouser
in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Frenemies” (2012),
where she played a popular girl named Julianne, and provided the voice
of Moppet Girl, a young arcade-game player, in Rich Moore's
“Wreck-It Ralph” (2012).
Scott guest starred as Clare Wilson in an episode of “Law &
Order: Special Victims Unit” called “Jersey
Breakdown” (2014) and as Maybelle in the episode “Hoedown
Showdown” (2014) of “Jessie.”
Apart from acting, Scott is a singer. She has recorded several
promotional singles, such as “Break the Floor” (2008),
“Shoulda Woulda Coulda” (2008), “Girl I Used to
Know” (2011), “FYI” (2012) and “Everything Has
Changed” (2013). She performed the song “Pose” with
Carlon Jeffery on the 2012 soundtrack album “A.N.T. Farm.”
