 | I have always liked this movie, however, if it is on TV it is with a station that has commercials so I decided to buy it. Also, my "significant other" watches it every chance he gets with all the commercials. We both decided that Jackie Gleason makes the movie. It is corny but hilarious and all the players just seem to fit into their roles. |

 | In the outtakes she starts shaking her head around and smirking weird. Then she goes into character. How strange she is. As for the film itself well it's a bit less well written and crafted than film one. BUt it's good too. |

 | I love these cannonball movies. They sure don't make them like this anymore. Stunt man turned director Hal Needham (Smokey & The Bandit) has done just as an amazing job of casting this movie as he did with the first. Returning from the first CB movie is Burt Reynolds as J.J McClure and Dom DeLuise as Victor with the alter ego of Captain Chaos. Just by reading who is cast in this movie is unbelievable...
- Burt Reynolds (Smokey and the bandit)
- Dom DeLuise (Many Mel Brooks films)
- Frank Sinatra (Rat Pack)
- Dean Martin (Rat Pack)
- Sammy Davis. Jr. (Rat Pack)
- Jamie Far (Clinger/M*A*S*H)
- Marilu Henner (Taxi)
- Telly Savalas (The Dirty Dozen)
- Susan Bach (Daisy/Dukes Of Hazzard)
- Jackie Chan (Shakespeare in love)
- Shirley MacLaine (Around the world in 80 days)
- Tony Danza (Who's the boss)
- Jim Nabors (Gomer Pile)
- The guy who played Jaws in the Bond films... and many, many more
The movie is great, just as great as the first one. Some people will dismiss it because they don't like to watch a great cast of actors having fun. Or they're too focused on their favourite actor who is not the star of this film. For me, it's a classic, one of the best sequels ever made and a 4 star movie in my book.
However, where there is good praise at first comes the bad news. Unlike the first DVD for Cannonball run, this one has been totally ignored by Warner. There is nothing about this DVD that makes it stand out or make it worth replacing that old VHS copy. The quality is not really good; it has speckles in many places, noticeable ones. The sound is a bit shoddy now and then. There is no bonus features, no nothing: Just the movie. Not even subtitles where included. There is nothing at all but a menu with a picture of the image on the cover, and 2 options to play the movie or select a scene: Not even a trailer.
I love this movie, so I had to get it no matter what it had included with it. But for those of you who like a good reason to buy a DVD `cause of some nice bonus goodies, then this one will leave you sore. They could have at least got Hal to do a commentary track like the first one. And the deleted scene Hal talks about on the 1st movies commentary of Burt and Shirley's heart warming special scene they wanted to do.
If you like the movie, you might be a bit disappointed in the shoddy VHS looking image quality, lack of bonus features, And in full screen only. Still, it's at a good enough price for it to not matter. |

 | This movie is great! But the reason I gave it a 1 star was coz Jackie Chan had a very small role and he appeared through both movies. I know his english isn't good but he could've done some of the fighting scenes |

 | If you liked the first Cannonball Run movie, then I guess there's no reason not to like this one. There's a little bit other than the race going on in this one. They have the mob chasing them. It stars out with the exact same opening credits as the first movie with the cops casing on of the fast cars and the sexy women defacing a speed limit sign. Then there's that familiar "Cannonballers getting drunk at the hotal the night before" thing. The race starts in the west coast this time, but throughout the entire movie, they never get past the Nevada desert until the cloing credits. Almost the entire movie take place in the Navada desert so there's not much racing going on. This movie had a slightly better supporting cast than the first one, which is why I gave this movie 2 stars instead of 1. This time we have the 19-foot tall behemoth Richard Kiel sharing a small computerized Japanese car with Jackie Chan. Some of the baddies chasing them include Henry Silva (who's always a ruthless bad guy, but here he's more of a nerdy bad guy), Abe Vigoa, Alex Rocco, Telly Savalas, just to name a few. Another mismatch of 2 people sharing a car is Mel Tillis and Tony Danza. You really have to be a fan of redneck fast car movies like Smokey And The Bandit, Hooper, and Stroker Ace, then maybe you'll like this, but If you like comedies that are actually FUNNY, then you'll be disappointed. |
