American actress of Irish ancestry Bridget Regan has acted on stage, television and film. She is perhaps best known for her role as Kahlan Amnell in the television series “Legend of the Seeker” (2008-2010). Other television series she has appeared in include “Beauty and the Beast” (2013), “White Collar” (2013), “Jane the Virgin” (2014) and “Agent Carter” (2015). Regan was in the original cast of the Broadway production of “Is He Dead?” (2007-2008).   

Regan's fans should not miss her performance on the forthcoming film “Devil's Gate” (2015).

Childhood and Family:

Bridget Catherine Regan, who would later be popular as Bridget Regan, was born on February 3, 1982, in San Diego County, California. She was raised in an Irish American and Catholic family. She started acting as a child in productions of “The Wizard of Oz,” “Annie” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at the La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas, California. Bridget attended San Dieguito Academy High School in Encinitas, California and later earned a BFA degree from North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied drama along with Gerald Freedman.    

Bridget is married to assistant director Eamon O'Sullivan, whom she met in New Zealand while filming “Legend of the Seeker.” They have one daughter, Frankie Jean (born December 27, 2010).

Is He Dead?

Career:

From October 12 to November 14, 1999, Bridget Regan performed in the play “Sweet Bird of Youth” at La Jolla Playhouse. She later made her Broadway debut in “Children and Art” in 2005. In the same year, she played the role of Eden in “The Scottish Play,” by American playwright Lee Blessing, at La Jolla Playhouse from September 20 to October 23, 2005.

 Regan began acting on television in 2006 with appearances in the TV film “The Wedding Album,” a pilot of  “Love Monkey” and a two episodic role as ADA Shankly in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” She also appeared in the short film “Blinders” (2006). In 2007, she appeared as Trish Hughes in the NBC short lived series “The Black Donnellys,” had a small role on the drama film “The Babysitters,” directed and written by David Ross, and played the role of Holly in the television movie “Supreme Courtships,” starring Daphne Ashbrook, Link Baker and John Berg. She also made guest appearances in “Six Degrees” (2007) and “American Experience” (2007).

Back on stage, Regan took on the role of Cecile Leroux, Marie's sister, on the Broadway production of “Is He Dead?”, directed by Michael Blakemore, written by Mark Twain and adapted by David Ives at the Lyceum Theater. She was with the production from December 9, 2007 until March 9, 2008.

Following a guest spot in “New Amsterdam” and small parts in the film “Sex and the City” and the TV film “The verdict” (all 2008), Regan landed the leading role of a Confessor named Kahlan Amnell in the television series “Legend of the Seeker,” adapted from novels in the series titled “The Sword of Truth” by Terry Goodkind. The series debuted on November 1, 2008 and ran for two seasons before its cancellation in 2010.

Regan was cast as Robin, the college crush of Jeff (played by Neil Patrick Harris), in the independent film “The Best and the Brightest” (2010), Annabelle Granger in the TV film “Hide” (2011) and Hannah Strong in the TV movie “The Frontier” (2012). She also appeared in episodes of the television series “NCIS: Los Angeles” (2011), “Person of Interest” (2011) and “Perception” (2012). In 2011, she ventured into producing with the musical “Camp Wanatachi,” which ran at the La MaMa Theater in New York City.  

In 2013, Regan appeared as Alex Salter, the former fiance of of Vincent Keller (played by Jay Ryan) in four episodes of the CW television series “Beauty and the Beast” and started her recurring role as     Rebecca Lowe/Rachel Turner, a brief love interest of Neal Caffrey, on the fifth season of the USA Network crime drama “White Collar.” The same year, she guest starred in an episode of “Sons of Anarchy” and starred with Annie Potts and Brendan Hine in the television film “Murder in Manhattan.”

In 2014, Regan joined the cast of the CW comedy/drama series “Jane the Virgin” in the recurring role of Rose, an ex-lawyer, former girlfriend, and stepmother of Luisa and Rafael who defends Luisa against the malpractice suit. She was cast as Addy in the action/thriller film “John Wick” (2014), starring Keanu Reeves as the title role.

Regan was cast in  the recurring role of Dottie Underwood in the comic book-based television series “Agent Carter,”  which premiered on ABC on January 6, 2015.

The actress will play the role of Maria Pritchard in the upcoming science fiction/thriller film film “Devil's Gate” (2015).
