Background:

Canadian model turned actor Brendan Fehr rose to fame playing Michael Guerin on the television series “Roswell” (The WB: 1999-2001; UPN: 2001-2002), from which he picked up two Teen Choice nominations and a Saturn nomination. In a more recent time, he is known to television viewers for his recurring roles on the popular series “CSI: Miami,” as Dan Cooper from 2005 to 2008, and “Bones,” as Jared Booth from 2008 to 2010. He also starred as Jake Stanton in the TV miniseries “Samurai Girl” (2008). Fehr has acted in a number of films, including “Disturbing Behavior” (1998), “Final Destination” (2000), “The Forsaken” (2001), “Edge of Madness” (2002), “Biker Boyz” (2003), “Sugar” (2004), where he received a Genie nomination for his performance, “The Long Weekend” (2005), “The Other Side of the Tracks” (2008) and “X-Men: First Class” (2011). In 2008, he was handed the Gemini Viewer's Choice Award in the category of Hottest Canadian Male Star. Fehr has appeared in commercials for companies such as “Shell Canada,” “Champs Sports” and a major tie-in campaign with “Levi's” and “Roswell.”

Currently, Fehr resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Jennifer Rowley (Married July 2006). The happy couple has two daughters, James Olivia (born 2008) and Ellison Jane (born 2011). Fehr is a member of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles. He used to play various sports while he was growing up. He enjoys hockey and golf and tries to play golf about once or twice a week. His favorite hockey team is the Vancouver Canucks. Commenting about his love of hockey, he stated, “It's terrible for a person's psyche to love something so much and not be great at it.”

Childhood and Family:

Brendan Jacob Joel Fehr was born on October 29, 1977, in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, to a yacht manufacturer father and a mother who worked as a correctional case manager. His parents divorced when he was young, but he maintains a good relationship with his father. Brendan displayed an interest in sports at an early age and became a top athlete in school. He was also a smart student, and wanted to become an accountant due to his love to mathematics. In 1990, he relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he lived with his mother and two sisters, Angela and Shan, and soon started to consider a career as a teacher. After graduating with honors from Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute in 1995, he worked as a model to save money for college, but in 1997, only about a week before he was to attend the University of Manitoba, he was spotted by a talent scout and quickly broke into Canadian television.

In July 2006, Brandon married his girlfriend Jennifer Rowley. His wife gave birth to their first child, daughter James Olivia Fehr, on March 26, 2008. The couple's second daughter, Ellison Jane Fehr, was born on January 23, 2011.

Career:

Brendan Fehr started out by modeling for local catalog companies and switched to acting after landing a part as Price Montague in an episode of the Canadian television teen comedy/drama series “Breaker High” called “Tamira Has Two Faces” (1997). More guest spots followed, such as in “NightMan” (1998, as Eric), “Millennium” (1998, as Kevin Galbraith; 1999, as Nick Carfagna), and “The New Addams Family” (1999, as Sam Sedgwick). Besides, Fehr made his television movie debut as Alan in the USA Network thriller “Every Mother's Worst Fear” (1998), starring Cheryl Ladd, Jordan Ladd and Robert Wisden, and again worked with Cheryl Ladd for the Canadian TV film “Perfect Little Angels” (also 1998). In the ABC fact based TV movie “Our Guys: Outrage in Glen Ridge,” he was cast as Barry Bennett, the cruel and offensive athlete son of the town sheriff. Fehr landed a starring role as Hart in the Canadian comedy film “Hand” (1998), opposite Rebecca Gibson and Steve Braun. He followed it up with a small part in the David Nutter directed teen thriller “Disturbing Behavior” (1998), starring James Marsden, Katie Holmes, Nick Stahl, Bruce Greenwood and William Sadler.

Fehr's big break arrived when he landed the regular role of Michael Guerin, an alien who has adopted human form on the American science fiction television series “Roswell,” which was developed, produced, and co-written by Jason Katims. Co-starring with Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, Katherine Heigl and Majandra Delfino, he played the role throughout the show's three seasons run from October 1999 until May 2002 (The WB: 1999-2001; UPN: 2001-2002). For his bright performance, Fehr was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards in the category of TV - Choice Sidekick in 2000 and 2001 and a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor on Television in 2001. Fehr's career took off after his performance in “Roswell.”

Fehr acted in several films during the early millennium. He starred with Brad Rowe and Allison Lange in the Canadian indie flick “Christina's House” (2000, lensed 1999), which was directed by Gavin Wilding and written by Stuart Allison, portrayed George Waggner in the popular teen thriller “Final Destination” (2000), a tale of terror wherein survivors of a plane crash being mysteriously dying off one by one, co-starred with Selma Blair, Max Beesley and Keegan Connor Tracy in the Dana Lustig helmed crime/thriller “Kill Me Later” (2001) and was cast as  a mysterious vampire hunter named Nick in J. S. Cardone's “The Forsaken” (2001), opposite Kerr Smith and Izabella Miko. He starred along with Jonathan Cherry and Andrew Moxham in the Canadian comedy “Long Shot” (2002), directed and written by Colby Johannson, and played the abusive husband, Simon Herron, in “Edge of Madness” (2002), a drama film based on the short story “A Wilderness Station,” written by Alice Munro.

After “Roswell” departed the airwaves, Fehr continued on pursuing his film career. In 2003, he  co-starred with Laurence Fishburne, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Luke, Orlando Jones, Lisa Bonet and Wren T. Brown in “Biker Boyz,” a film about a group of underground motorcycle drag racers, and appeared in the New Zealand movie “Nemesis Game,” alongside Carly Pope, Adrian Paul and Ian McShane. In the following year, he portrayed Butch, a hustler who introduced Cliff, a sheltered and insecure suburban teenager, to gay street life in the Canadian film “Sugar,” directed and co-written by John Palmer. He was nominated for a 2005 Genie for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in the film. The same year, he also appeared in the Don McKellar comedy “Chilstar.”

In 2005, Fehr returned to the small screen when he joined the cast of the CBS police procedural series “CSI: Miami” in the recurring role of laboratory Tech Dan Cooper. He appeared in a total of 35 episodes until April 2008. Also in 2005, he portrayed Chris Klein's brother in the Canadian film “The Long Weekend.” Fehr went on appear in “Comeback Season” (2006), an American comedy film directed and written by Bruce McCulloch and starring Ray Liotta, and “The Fifth Patient” (2007), an American thriller film written and directed by Amir Mann and starring Nick Chinlund.

In 2008, Fehr starred as Jake Stanton, opposite Jamie Chung and Stacy Keibler as Heaven and Karen, respectively, in a six hour television miniseries loosely adapted from the popular young adult novel series by Carrie Asai called “Samurai Girl.” The show originally aired on ABC Family from September 5 to 7, 2008. In the same year, he also had the leading role of Josh Stevens on the independent fantasy film “The Other Side of the Tracks.”

Fehr played the recurring role Jared Booth on the hit Fox series “Bones” between November 2008 and January 2010. In March 2010, he starred alongside Francia Raisa in the ABC Family Channel TV movie “ The Cutting Edge: Fire & Ice.”  Two months later, he had a guest stint as Al Branson in an episode of “CSI: NY.”  Later in December 2010, the actor starred as Michael Webster in the Canadian science fiction made for TV film “Ice Quake.”

2011 saw Fehr guest star in an episodes of “Nikita” called “Coup de Grace” (as Steven), and co-star with Anastasia Griffith in the Canadian TV movie thriller “And Baby Will Fall” as well as with Elisabeth Röhm and Laura Breckenridge in the TV film “ A Christmas Kiss.” The same year, he also  
played Sgt. Dominic Rossi in the drama film “Fort McCoy,” opposite Eric Stoltz, Kate Connor and Lyndsy Fonseca, and was cast as Communications Officer in “X-Men: First Class,” the fifth installment   in the “X-Men” film series. “X-Men: First Class” received positive reviews from critics and was a box office success with earnings of over $353 million worldwide.    

Fehr will play Jay Rathbone in the upcoming comedy film “Roswell FM” (2012), directed by Stephen Griffin and written by David Spence. Jason London and Don Stark will also star with him in the film. Fehr also is set to co-star with Katharine Isabelle, Brendan Fletcher, Nick Moran and Jesse Moss in the Lowell Dean helmed horror movie “13 Eerie” (2013).
