Bonnie-Jill Laflin is an American model, actress and television personality. She first became popular as the winner of the NBA cheerleader of the year in 1994, and has cheered for San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Golden State Warriors, and XFL Los Angeles Xtreme. The athletic beauty has appeared in television series “Baywatch” and “Ally McBeall” and in movies like “Orange County” (2002) and “Cruel Game” (2002). She hosted ESPN2's “SpeedWorld” and Spike TV's “Hotlines” and  was correspondent for ESPN's morning show “Cold Pizza.” She has also appeared in television commercials for “McDonald's,” “Fritos,” “Met-RX,” “ESPN,” “Carl's Jr.” and “Coor's Light” as well as in music videos for artists such as Dwight Yoakam,Creed, Little Texas and Dierks Bentley. Currently, Laflin is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers front office.

One of Maxim magazine's “Hot 100 of 2005,” Laflin kives in the Los Angeles area with her Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix, Diamond, and her two Calico cats, Dallas and Star. She met her boyfriend, Major Ross Yastrzemsky (Apache Pilot), in Iraq on USO Tour. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, rollerblading, running and boxing. Laflin is a patron of animal rights and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Other charity organizations she has been involved with include the ASPCA, Special Olympics, American Horse Defense Fund, Soldier Fund, and Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund.

Childhood and Family:

Nicknamed BJ, Bonnie-Jill Angelica Laflin was born on March 15, 1975, in San Francisco, California. Her father is of German and Irish descent, while her mother is of Apache Indian, Spanish and Hawaiian extraction. Growing up as a tomboy, BJ enjoyed wearing sports jerseys and spending her free time watching football games on television when she was younger.    


NBA Cheerleader of the Year

Career:

Bonnie-Jill Laflin first came to the attention of public when she won the title of NBA  Cheerleader of the Year in 1994 while a member of the Golden State Warriors Cheerleading Squad. A year later, she joined the San Francisco 49ers Goldrush Cheerleading squad and earned a Super Bowl ring for the 1995-1996 season. Her career as a cheerleader gained further boost when she was accepted into the celebrated Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team in 1997. She went on to win Miss Dallas/Fort Worth USA title in 1998.

Lured by stint as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Laflin began taking on modeling jobs for swimming calenders that finally got her noticed by casting agents and producers. During 1998-1999, she landed the recurring role of Tina on the popular action/drama series “Baywatch.” In 2000, she had a memorable recurring turn as Billy's dream girl in four episodes of “Ally McBeal”and appeared as Juggy Dancer in several episodes of “The Man Show.” Laflin also made guest appearances on “Nash Bridges” and “The Jaime Foxx Show” and appeared in such films as “Whipped” (2000), “Orange County” (2002) and “Cruel Game” (2002, as Emerald).   

2003 saw Laflin begin her tenure as a correspondent for “KCAL 9 News” as well as for ESPN's morning show “Cold Pizza.” The same year, she also was recruited as a host on the Spike TV upbeat reality adventure series “Hotlines.” In 2004, she became a host on ESPN's “United Rockcrawling & Off-Road Challenge Series,” along with Danny Allen and Crystal Stone. Two years later, she was named the hostess for ESPN's “SpeedWorld.”   

In 2007, Laflin appeared as model #15 in several episodes of “Deal or No Deal.” She returned to acting in the following year with a small role as Bonnie, Benny's girl, in the Nick Vallelonga directed  crime/drama “Stiletto,” starring Stana Katic, Tom Berenger and Paul Sloan.

Currently, Laflin is working with the Los Angeles Lakers as a scout, making her the first female scout in NBA, and as the assistant general manager for the new Lakers D League Team, the Los Angeles D-Fenders.She is the founder of the clothing line Double Play Sportswear.
