Fantastic Four 2
First coming to the attention of the public as one of the fresh faces for Guess, American model and actress Beau Garrett has added several acting roles to her resume. Making her debut with guest roles in TV series like Fox's “North Shore” and HBO's “Entourage” (both 2004), the avid horseback rider first impressed moviegoers with her role on “Turistas” (2006), a horror film directed by John Stockwell. She also appeared as Krista in the independent movie “Live!” and Captain Frankie Raye on “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” (both 2007). Her more recent and upcoming film credits include “Made of Honor” (2008), “Kalamity” (2009) and “TRON 2.0” (2010). Garrett is also a spokesmodel for the prestigious brand Revlon.
Despite her growing popularity, Garrett dislikes publicity. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and family and practicing such sports as kick boxing, running, and of course, horseback riding. She also enjoys reading. Garret mentions Nicholas Evans' “The Horse Whisperer” and Wally Lamb's “She's Come Undone” as her favorite books.
Childhood and Family:
Beau Jesse Garrett was born on December 28, 1982, in Beverly Hills, California. She was raised in Topanga Canyon in the Santa Monica mountains with her older sister, Autumn. Beau discovered a love for horseback riding and became a skilled equestrian. She owns a horse named Dankeshoen.
Growing up in Topanga Canyon, in Santa Monica, Beau Garrett was spotted by a talent scout while shopping at a local mall. Subsequently, she found herself working for the prestigious Elite Modeling Agency. Her modeling career took off in the late 1990s when she was recruited as one of the new faces for GUESS! Now represented by Vision Model Management L.A., Garrett is a spokesmodel for Revlon cosmetics, alongside Jessica Alba and Halle Berry. She has also appeared in magazines such as “CosmoGirl” and “Double D Ranch.”
Garrett branched out to acting in 2004 with guest spots in the Fox Network short-lived drama series “North Shore” and the HBO hit comedy “Entourage.” The following year, she appeared as Fiona in the first episode of “Head Cases,” a comedy starring Chris O'Donnell, Adam Goldberg and Rhea Seehorn.
2006 saw Garrett make an auspicious big screen debut in the John Stockwell-helmed horror film “Turistas,” which was filmed in Brazil. She played the role of Amy, opposite Josh Duhamel, Melissa George, Olivia Wilde, Desmond Askew and Max Brown.
After appearing as Lynnet in an episode of “Wildfire” called “ Moving On,” Garrett resurfaced with her second film, “Unearthed” (2007), for director/writer Matthew Leutwyler. The thriller cast her as Caya, opposite Emmanuelle Vaugier as Sheriff Annie Flynn, Luke Goss as Kale and Charles Q. Murphy as Hank. She next portrayed Krista in the Tribeca Film Festival-premiered “Live” (2007), which was directed and written by Bill Guttentag and starred Eva Mendes. Garrett also landed the popular role of Captain Frankie Raye on “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” the sequel to the 2005 based-on-comic book “Fantastic Four” (both directed by Tim Story.) Talking about her character in the movie, Garrett, who costarred with Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon and Doug Jones, stated, “Frankie Raye is a military brat who works under General Hager, who is played by Andre Braugher; and they come in to collaborate with the ‘Fantastic Four’ to help stop these occurrences that are keeping, or putting, the world at stake. So she’s a very thick skinned character who grew up in the military. He’s kind of a father figure for her and she has this love interest with Johnny Storm. She’s a cool character. She’s human underneath all the exterior. She’s got a good side that really comes out in the film.”
In 2008, Garrett was cast in the significant role of Gloria in Columbia Pictures' comedy “Made of Honor,” which was helmed by Paul Weiland. Among her costars in the movie were Patrick Dempsey, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin McKidd and Sydney Pollack.
Garrett will play Alicia in the drama film “Ivory,” opposite Martin Landau, Peter Stormare and Travis Fimmel, and Alice in the James M. Hausler thriller “Kalamity” (2009), alongside Nick Stahl, Jonathan Jackson, Christopher M. Clark and Robert Forster. She is also scheduled to have a part in the sci-fi movie “TRON 2.0,” which is set to be released in 2010. The film will reunite Garrett with her “Turistas” costar Olivia Wilde.
