 | Arnold pulled this movie off quite well. THere's no denying it was entertaining. It was a brilliant movie. It somehow acts like a warning to people that cloning is bad for the future.
Seeing those villains being cloned multiple times really grossed me out.
The plot was quite cool having 2 Arnolds roaming around America. It was a thrilling action-packed movie. That's all! |

 | I enjoyed this movie a lot and felt it did touch on some major human, moral, and business interests issues with where cloning is going. I thought it was good and it had a great twist to it that led to a surreal ending. I would suggest to rent it if you have not seen it and are wanting to watch an action packed Sci-Fi with Arnold at the wheel! Or is it his clone...
In this science-fiction thriller set in the very near future, DNA cloning has been perfected and has become an accepted part of everyday life - cattle and fish are cloned for sale at the market, genetically engineered fruit and vegetables are found in most family's kitchens (nacho-flavored bananas, anyone?), and if your pet dies, you can even order a cloned replacement.
NFL Quarterback injured? Just secretly throw in the clone for a dab of cheating and conspiracy! (And we thought the steroids issue was out of control)
But laws have been passed that strictly forbid the cloning of human beings. However, helicopter pilot Adam Gibson (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who believes people should live and die the old-fashioned way, discovers that someone has been violating these regulations. After Adam luckily avoids being on a copter that crashes, he comes home to discover someone has duplicated him. Now Adam is on a mission to find out who cloned him and why, as he struggles to take back his life from a scientifically created impostor, his boss Michael Drucker (Tony Goldwyn), and a pair of thugs (Sarah Wynter and Rod Rowland) who have been cloned into near-indestructibility. The 6th Day also stars Robert Duvall as cloning expert Griffin Weir, Michael Rooker as Drucker's right-hand man Robert Marshall, and Michael Rapaport as Adam's partner, Hank Morgan. |

 | (Please note that this review should not be taken seriously. The author of this review was either hung over, still drunk from the night before or extremely slap-happy while viewing this movie- probably a mixture of three. However, if you plan on seeing this movie in any of these mind-altered states, take this review to heart.)
Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have the movie that will be cleaning up at the Oscars this year. Two words- Sixth Day. The religious reference in the title is almost enough to give you chills before you've seen the movie. And this truly is some of Arnold Schwarzenegger's best work.
During the movie I overheard a gentlemen named Backdoor say "Oscar clip!" at a particularly touching moment between Arnold and his wife. I understood the sentiment because the scene nearly brought me to tears.
The typical Arnold movie has a one-liner. That is half the reason for seeing his movies. In the past we have gotten such gems as "Hasta la vista, Baby" and "It's not a tum-uh." This movie has more one-liners than all of his past movies combined. My personal favorite is during a scene when Arnold is carrying around a woman's thumb (to gain entrance into building where your thumbprint is your ID) and he accidentally drops the thumb in front of a security guard. Arnold hastily picks up the thump and says apologetically to the security guard, "I'm all thumbs today." Can you get better than that?
The special effects in this movie, a futuristic action-thriller, are phenomenal. It is almost impossible not to get totally lost in the believable plot line. The planes / helicopters are faster and can be flown by wrist controls. The hairstyles are totally futuristic and crazy and, most importantly, there are virtual women you can download to you apartment to have virtual sex with you- a probable turn on for some viewers.
This is movie is awesome. I cannot stress this enough. See it for the flagrant flipping, the glass that shatters a little too much and the people that have delayed-falls through glass ceilings. Hell, see it for Ah-nuld. |

 | Ok, well I'm bored so....Over the years I have seen different messages hidden in the backrounds of movies in the props and backrounds of various scenes. In this movie, there is a spot where the camera pans past a storage locker for different cloned items. The one that caught my eye was the one showing "PURE WHEAT". I believe it is toward the end of the movie. There are many different conspiracies out there that suggest an elitest quest to create the "perfect" human. Because of the nature of this movie, I wouldn't doubt at all that this may be a reference to the bible, relating to the book of Revelations where the wheat(God's selected people) is to be reaped or collected. Could this be hinting at an endeavor to selectively create/clone humans that would be without hereditary diseases or psychological disorders? Or maybe specifically to preserve or clone those who have lead an unblemished life (ie: Mother Theresa and many others), considering different areas of our brains control our actions and feelings. Reproducing or preserving them would definitely make for a brighter and more positive future. Well, all of this could be just someone's thought on the Bible or just a random choice for a stage prop(the "wheat reference")But with all the religous groups out there, including the fantaticals (ie:Adolf Hitler) that believe they will wipe out the wicked(using diseases,catastrophies,etc...)we should maybe take a look at Revelations 21:4---- "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Science can poss. one day limit tear duct flow-no salts in the diet maybe, numbing or stopping pain receptors, better health=extended life,etc...Well, have fun with this one guys, hope I didn't go too deep on ya', but anythings possible. Maybe I just think to much...But I bet if you start paying more attention to backround props through-out movies and sitcoms on t.v., you will be amazed by the number of things that have been placed purposely or slipped in. Overall though, this was a pretty entertaining movie. |
