 | THE PREDATOR is NOT a B movie. It's first rate entertainment that combines sci-fi with horror & military-action. Director John McTiernan skillfully blends genres to create one of the best, no-slack adventure films since original KING KONG. Suspense is genuine and unrelentant.Arnold S. and his elite commandos have no idea what they're up against as the CIA dumps them deep into forbidden planet jungles of Central America on Black Opx rescue mission. Along with Arnold is Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura who shine among this A-team of macho super-soldiers(Jesse effortlessly hikes around a TO&E, standard-issue Huey Attack helicopter-mounted 6000 r/m mini-gun harking back to days of SSGT Rock and his hip-slung .50 calibre machine gun). The real stars of the show are the APOCALYPSE NOW triple canopy jungle scenery and Sam Winston's(ALIEN)Monster from the Id,PREDATOR who's come to Earth to hunt MEN. Alan Silvestri's musical score is rife with excitement;the entire film is paced major danger from opening credit's Alien landing to way too late extraction of "and then there were none"survivors.PREDATOR is the ultimate survival flick pushed to mythical ordeal levels. | This movie is absolutely superb! I liked Alien, but this one is even better! The fight scenes were awesome, and Arnold did a great job. Also, Predator himself was stellar and everything an big, evil space monster should be. I thought his weapons were outstanding and that his final fight with Arnold was the best part of the movie. And the ways he killed his victims were as juicy as roast lamb! His costume was cool, too. I especially liked the quotes "Bleed? I ain't got time to bleed!" and "You're one ugly motherf***er!" You like space monsters or science fiction? You should see this. |

| Forget politics for now. Even now, "Predator" is arguably one of my favorite action-science fiction classics that I still watch today.
Set somewhere in the treacherous jungles of South America, a team of U.S. commandos are sent down there to rescue a band of government officials who've been kidnapped by a squad of heavily armed insurgents in South America and a war ensues between. However, after the skirmish, both the U.S. commandoes and their South American foes start being killed, one by one by an unseen enemy that is not even of this world.
Now with both his comrades and enemies alike being killed off one by one, Dutch now is facing off against a deadly foe that is not a sniper but actually an alien that landed on earth and hunts for the sake of it.
Arnold is excellent once again as the macho protagonist main character in an action movie. In case you didn't know, the guy who played blain is Jesse Ventura! Both of them would go on to become governors. Arnold is governor of California and Jesse was governor of Minnesota for a period of time. While I've had mixed opinions of their views, I still love watching them in their roles in "Predator".
Although the age does show in some spots, the special effects are absolutely impressive especially taking into account that this was 1987! The way they did the extra-terrestrial being's face and scary looking mouth was awesome and gave me nightmares for a long time after first seeing the movie.

| I have sold my old DVD and get this one instead. The DTS is great for a movie like that. the picture has not improoved very much, that's why I don't give a 5-stars rating. |

| An alien has landed on earth. The whole army group is in the jungle has been kill by this Predator. The only two survivors are Arnold and that girl who he sent off earler to the chopper. In the end they came back to rescue Arnold but before that he set traps to kill the alien instead he blew up himself cause their was no hope for him. |
