English actress Antonia Thomas rose to prominence for portraying Alisha Daniels on the first three series of the E4 comedy/drama television series “Misfits” (2009-2011), from which she also nabbed a Golden Nymph nomination at the 2011 Monte-Carlo TV Festival. She also starred in the TV miniseries “Homefront” (2012) and played Yvonne in the 2013 film “Sunshine on Leith.”

Antonia Thomas was born Antonia Laura Thomas on November 3, 1986, in London, England, UK. She is the daughter of English classical bass singer David Thomas. Her mother is a Jamaican. Antonia has two older sisters, Emma Jay, an actress, and Chloe Lucy, a journalist. A highly accomplished painter, she enrolled at the Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design before applying to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she got a BA in Acting in 2009. She was a member of  the National Youth Theatre.



Shortly after graduating from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Antonia Thomas scored the  regular role of  Alisha Daniels on the science fiction/comedy/drama series “Misfits,” which premiered on E4 on November 12, 2009. She left the show in 2011 after the third series and was replaced by Nathan McMullen. She was nominated for Monte-Carlo TV Festival's Golden Nymph Award for Outstanding Actress - Drama Series for her performance on the show.

During her stint on the series, Thomas played Maddy in three episodes of the TV miniseries “The Deep” (2010) and played Sadie in the teen drama pilot “Stanley Park” (2010), which was produced for BBC Three and was broadcast on June 10, 2010. She also reprised her role as Alisha Daniels in “Misfits Erazer” (2011).     

In 2012, Thomas played the role of Tasha Raveley in “Homefront,” a six-episode mini-series which follows the lives of four army wives in the UK. The show also starred Warren Brown, George Costigan and Rosie Day. She appeared with Elliott Tittensor, Nico Mirallegro and Jordan Murphy in the British drama film “Spike Island” (2012) and starred as Adrienne in the British comedy film “8 minutes idle” (2012).

In 2013, Thomas was cast as Yvonne on the film adaptation of the hit play, “Sunshine on Leith,” opposite Jason Flemyng and George MacKay as Harry and Davy, respectively. Besides, she co-starred with Paul Schneider on the comedy film “Hello Carter,” which was released in the UK on October 12, 2013.

Thomas has completed filming the role of Steinmann on the upcoming science fiction film “Scintilla” (2013), for director Billy O'Brien, as well as the role of Alex on the short film “III Air” (2013). She also will play roles on the forthcoming films “Rearview” (with  Jamie Sives and Jay Simpson) and “Northern Soul” (2013, with Steve Coogan and Christian McKay).
