Great movie, very funny but when it was out in theaters it was rated R now it is rented with a pg13 rating. I was unaware pg13 ratings allowed a fully nude women to be seen from the front. Seems they should keep the r rating.

SummaryGreat romantic movie!
Content
I overlooked this movie for the longest time. I saw that it said Rated R and fully knowing that I can't watch R rated movies, passed it up. But then I found out that it wasn't R rated and watched it. My, what a surprise. This is like 10x better then American Grafatti (the only high school reunion movie I've seen). And it's a great movie overall. It's a pleasent romantic movie! Buy it!

P.S. It's rated PG

SummarySimply A Classic
Content
I love love LOVE this movie! It's my favorite Molly Ringwald movie that I never tire of. It's funny and really goofy. It has one of those 'duh' humors that can rarely pass as a good movie.
It's worth it! Buy It! :)

SummaryAnother Great 80's Movie!!!
Content
I have not yet purchased this particular DVD, so I'm writing a review based on the movie I saw about 20 years ago (and have watched about 30 times on late night t.v. since then). I'll write about this DVD edition once I receive it. (I just couldn't wait until then to add this movie to my Listmania list of "My Favorite Movies"!).

"Sixteen Candles" is another great Molly Ringwald movie - a classic from the 1980's. I was a teenager during this time, so her movies were a staple for me - and for some reason, I've NEVER forgotten about them.

"Sixteen Candles" is about a middle class girl - who seems to be neither overly popular, nor one of the dorks - who has a major crush on one of the rich, popular kids. The only problem is that he has a rich, popular girlfriend, and there is a geek who keeps following her around - at all the wrong times.

Of course she doesn't think that he even knows she exists, so when the "geek" lets her know that this guy had asked about her, she doesn't know what to do - and so she winds up acting like "a total geek" every time he's around.

There are so many other little story lines going on that it's hard to describe it all here. Suffice it to say that there are many hysterical moments - where you laugh till your cheeks hurt - and many others where your heart goes out to this "poor teen". It brings back SOoooo many highschool memories of the "in-crowd", and what it felt like not to be a part of this group.

I don't want to ruin the ending for you - in case you never saw it - but it ends in classic Molly Ringwald fashion, so you can't help but remember it forever!

Overall, I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys teenage romance movies, as well as those who grew up during the 80's (it will feel like you're in a time warp!).
