ANNE ROBINSON NEWS:

Anne Robinson is one of the country?s most distinguished broadcasters and journalists. She presents the prime time BBC television shows Watchdog and Weekend Watchdog and is a weekly newspaper columnist. Anne is also a regular stand in the Jimmy Young Radio 2 current affairs programme and is an occasional presenter of Radio 4?s Woman?s Hour.

For the past 15 years she has written a weekly newspaper column - for the Daily Mirror, Today, the Sun, The Times and The Express. She currently writes a weekly personal diary for The Times on Saturday.

For 11 years, Anne scripted and presented Points of View for BBC television and for six years presented the Anne Robinson Show on BBC Radio 2.

Before her move into broadcasting Anne was a Fleet Street newspaper executive. As Assistant Editor of the Daily Mail in the early 1980s she was the first women to regularly edit a national newspaper.

Anne was born in Liverpool and says her most formative education was gleaned not only from convent boarding school or college but working on her mother?s market stall. She was made an Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University in 1996.

Anne divides her time between her house in Kensington and her home in the Cotswolds where she enjoys walking her English Setter, Maudie.

Anne is known for her red hair, her Giorgio Armani suits, her impatience with organisations that give customers a raw deal and, of course, her wink...
