Redhead Goes To Red Carpet
The first red-haired model to cover Glamour magazine, Angie Everhart has also acted in several films. She appeared briefly in The Last Action Hero (1993, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger) and starred in Love in Paris, sequel to the 9½ Weeks film.
Formerly told by Eileen Ford that her red hair would not sell, Angie would be showcased in swimsuit issues of Sports Illustrated, and some of the finest fashion magazines. Hazel-eyed model and actress Angie Everhart also made captain for the 2004's Lingerie Bowl.
The dramatic redhead was engaged to former action actor Sylvester Stallone for two months in 1995, married to actor Ashley Hamilton for three months, was engaged to well-off business owner Jimmy Traboulis, briefly dated Howard Stern, and gossip had her involved in a special relationship with Prince Albert of Monaco.
Angie The Mascot
Childhood and Family:
Daughter to homemaker and engineer parents Ginnie and Bobby, Angela Kay Everhart was born on September 7, 1969. Ohio native Angie attended Harvey S. Firestone High School, in which she was the school mascot and graduated in 1987.
Angie, who was often mistaken for a boy in her childhood, is fond of adventurous sports such as riding horses and skydiving. Good-humored Angie has a Maltese dog called Sir Edward Van Halen II, named after a band.
On December 1, 1996, Angie married Ashley Hamilton (son of actor George Hamilton) but the marriage lasted for only three months and the couple was divorced in March of 1997.
Riding The Scene
It was mother Ginnie who suggested Angie delve into the modeling scene. She sent Angie's photos to local modeling agencies, and thanks to mom, Angie was soon off to Africa for her first important photo shoot. By the end of 1987, Angie was on the cover of several magazines like Glamour and Elle as well as adorning runways in Milan and Paris. Angie was also snapped for a Levi's ad that would help launch her name.
Unfortunately, horseback-riding fan Angie fell from her horse and broke her back. After a long recuperation period (4 months) Angie was back on her feet and still enjoys horseback riding today. As her fame rose Angie was in demand. The 5' 10" inches tall, measurements 34-23.5-35 redhead posed for the 1995 and 1996 swimsuit issues of Sports Illustrated and in the February 2000 issue of Playboy.
Angie also tried her hand in acting with a bit part in the 1993 film The Last Action Hero, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. She followed with a stint in Jade and Bordello Of Blood, a Tales From The Crypt series adoption. Angie finally won a lead role along with Mickey Rourke in the movie Love in Paris, a sequel to 9½ Weeks.
Angie can also be seen in Denial (1998), Running Red (1999), Dillinger in Paradise (1999), Point Doom (1999), Camera (2000), and Gunblast Vodka (2000). She did not achieved much recognition for her acting until 2001 when she was cast in The Substitute: Failure Is Not an Option and Last Cry. She then appeared in such films as Bare Witness (2002), The Real Deal (2002), Bandido (2003), and the TV movie 1st to Die (2003). Angie also played an impressive role in Danny DeVito's series UC: Undercover and played herself in The Mole in Celebrity Mole: Yucatan.
