Just caught this flick on cable, and while I can't say that I was very inspired by it, it made enough of an impression on me to sit down and write this review.

This film sort of fits into the "slice of (disfunctional) life" catagory. If you're looking for a synopsis of the movie itself, I suggest that you check out the description posted on the IMDB. I won't waste your time rehashing the standard fare plot here. Suffice it to say that watching this movie was sort of like eating a whole box of Ritz crackers in one sitting... at the time it doesn't seem like such a bad idea, but once you're done you sit back and think, "now why the hell did I do that"?

I'm not suggesting that Nevada is a bad film, quite the contrary. It is well acted and directed, and sports an impressive ensemble cast, including Dee Wallace Stone, Gabrielle Anwar, Angus MacFadyen, Kirstie Alley, and Ben Browder, to name just a few. It's almost worth seeing just on that merrit alone.

However, it does tend to plod along, going nowhere, and like eating too many crackers, it's something to do when you're bored, yet it's ultimately unsatisfying in the end.
