 | I went to see this movie with my girlfriend. She laughed hysterically throughout the movie, while I was laughing as well, but about a completely different thing. She laughed because she thought it was funny. I laughed because I thought it was ridiculously stupid.
The screenplay was horrible. About every other line, I would shake my head in dissapointment. The plot must have been written without thought. The acting was alright. But I am not an Ashton Kutcher fan. If he can become a famous actor, then so can any other average person.
I must say this is one of the worst movies ever. Crossroads was a better movie than this. Don't waste your time watching this like I did. |

 | Whilst we paid for Gold Class tickets to see this movie - the flick was far from Gold. The 'romance' between Emily and Olly was non-existant. There was no on screen chemistry between these two at all.
I wouldn't recommend this movie to any one. Sorry. |

 | I found this movie to be a lot like life... I could totally relate to much of it, and it's light-hearted romantic humor made me smile. I did not feel this movie was hilarious, or one I would like to see repeatedly, but it was a good, light hearted movie which I enjoyed once and might enjoy twice. |

 | Before I actually review this, I do think it's kind of funny that one person on this site went on a hell and fire diatribe against people going to see these kinds of movies when, in order to review a movie, he would have had to spend the $8-$10 just like the rest of us to see it. And if he didn't spend the money, then rational common sense would be you can't review something you have never seen. So upon screaming "you people" need to do this or that, or why do "you people" pay to see this he in fact has to include himself in that group or else why is he reviewing the movie? And even if he has stayed 100 miles from this film, why would someone spend time going on a diatribe against people he doesn't even know? Why waste his time, if the movie isn't worth it, to lash out at society and people he doesn't even know? It sounds like the degree in psychology could be used to examine his own misplaced feelings of anger toward a group of people he has never met. Kind of sad, actually.
That said, the movie is okay. Yes it has ripped off better movies and the total is not the sum of its parts but it was at least enjoyable. Personally, it's not the worst Hollywood romance story that's come out in a few years and I happen to not think that Amanda Peet is a "slut" as infered by a certain review. Her carefree and exhuberant personality is always welcome, even in a mediocre movie as this is. Ashton will eventually fade away as he has only played the same character over and over. But the movie was often times enjoyable if only because of Amanda Peet and was very predictable fashion.
Personally, I would recommend waiting for a rental or maybe HBO or TV. Not even remotely close to being great but quasi-enjoyable. |
